Well i am really mad about Reagan Mauia since we now just released Boomer Grigsby. i was ok with the move until we release him after week 1. any thoughts?

Bring back Deon Dyer...LOL

They both sucked! Mauia was strictly a blocker and overrated at that. Grigsby was converted from LB so I am not real suprised by his release. I'm excited about signing Cramer to replace him. He should be more of a threat and is also a very good special teams player which should ease the loss of Grigsby.

the fullback position has been slowly fazed out of the NFL. Take a look around. Theres about 5 real fullbacks left in this league. Most offenses don't use one, most players don't wanna be one, and most teams dont wanna waste money on one. It's the most expendable position on a football team, case in point, we cut both our starters in less then a month.

TEs can do everything a fullback can, and they can catch. So thats why we keep more TEs instead of signing a FB.

I agree, both Mauia and Gribsby weren't that great...

I'm glad we actually have a real FB...and one that can catch..

I don't see what the problem is...we should happy that our guys will keep doing what they can to improve the roster. Obviously, this Cramer guy must be an ugrade over both Mauia and Grigsby or he won't be here.

Have you read anything about Casey Cramer? He looks like a good pickup, his strengths are blocking and apparently he has good hands too. As much as I hated the Reagan move, I have faith the front office knows what they're doing, we need to see how Cramer pans out before we pass judgement.

"The 6-foot-2, 250-pound Cramer, a four-year veteran who signed with the Dolphins on Monday, is tough blocker, quality special teams player and has better ball skills than the 5-foot-11, 249-pound Grigsby"

Seriously, I didn't mind cutting Grigsby and signing Cramer. Cramer is 6-2, 250. That's a load.

Plus, this franchise is cursed when it comes to fullbacks. We haven't had a "do everything" fullback since Tony Paige. Rob Konrad was supposed to be our Moose Johnson, but it never materialized.

A previous poster is right, the fullback position is being phased out. With all the spread offenses dominating high school and college football, fullbacks are no longer being developed.
