I am a golden god
Man this really blows, but we should have seen last year, and this year (if its as bad as we fear) coming a long time ago. The past regimes set us up for failure, and that 4-12 year was a long time coming. Jimmy Johnson had some awful drafts offensively and made other bad decisions, Sure he helped build an incredible Defense, but where did that get us? No where this top 10 Defense we have had in the past few years and now are ovverrrated. Whens the last time you have seen aFins defender make a play? when has Zach, JT, Madison and all the others tep up when we needed them too? A top ten defense would have not allowed the Browns to shut them out or for the Pats to some back and win. These guys are good but not great.
I dont blame Saban for our losing look this **** he inheirited: a crappy O line, good but not great WRs, an aging Defense, last but not least a crappy QB. This is the fault of the other morons. Jimmy Johnson never planned ahead, he never drafted Marino's heir, what happened Jimmy I thought you hated the guy? Didnt you want him to leave? You knew he want going to last for ever why not drft a QB that Dan could have groomed? He had a ''win now'' philosophy, actually we all have that idea except that we use it in every day life; instant gratification. He also tried a little to hard to get players that would fit his crappy system, ad so when that didnt work out he left and Wanny finished what he started, he gradually drove this team into the ground and as a result we never got a QB, for 5 years this has been our main weakness.
And here comes Saban, the coach who we all hope who will rebuild this team and return it to a glory we havent had in over 30 long years. Well his first year hasnt been what I expected so far, he did a good job in the offseason, but its only been one offseason and Rome wasn't build in a day. I expected this team to go 8-8 or 7-9 when the season started and its looking like its not gonna happen, it seems that the experts were right all along, this is a six win team, but the best thing that could happen is for them to lose the rest of there games and go 3-13. Sad aint it? I still think they can get a seven or eight win season, but those chances are looking slim.
The Fins will have plenty of money next year and we should be in for another good offseason, one which will be marked by the drafting of a Franchise QB, Our most important piece of the puzzle. He should be good, but he'll never be good enough for the fans down here, we have been spoiled by one of the best for 17 years, and some of us will think of this kid as another great, hopefully he will go down as one of the best, but there will be plenty of comparisons to Marino, and thats one hell of an expectation to live up to.
In this rebuilding phase we may have to see some of our favoriteplayers on this team leave for thr good of this franchises future, BUt Im' sure they will be replaced by more good players. We have already experienced a taste of these ''growing pains'' but its neccessary for this team to return to the top.
