There's nothing more annoying to me right now than watching Gibril Wilson play terribly and Yeremiah Bell play below average against the pass. Any chance that Clemons and Culver get reps at safety this week against the leagues strongest passing attack? I also think that Vontae would be a valuable option at free safety. He's a physical player who has the ability to be a ball hawk. I'd be all for Smith and Allen at corner and Vontae and Clemons at safety. I think the only way that we win this game is by switching up our defensive schemes A LOT. Cam Wake, Roth, Anderson... A lot of different pass rushers on this team to rotate in. A good pass rush with our young talented defensive backs with my proposed lineups could lead to a lot of turn overs and botched plays. Thoughts?

Culver actually has been getting a lot of PT but its harder to notice cause he normally covers his guy pretty well.
Its pretty sad when your 3rd safety cover better than both starters and ur dime or nickel back

I hope this turns out like last year when it was just timing and the D put it all together in the second half of the season. Wilson is a better player than what he has shown.

That Vontae Davis to FS idea would sound like a good theory to most teams. But we have been down that road before and we all know how that turned out.

I honestly do want to see Clemon get some more PT though. He could be a gamer, having a SS with speed and power. We could potentially have a smaller Polamalu on our hands, hair and all!

Actually just looked it up. Chris Clemons is actually bigger than Polamalu. And has better measurables, check it out.

Polamalu:
Height - 5'10''
Weight - 206
lowest 40 time - 4.35
225 lb. Bench Press - 25

Clemons:
Height - 6'1''
Weight - 210
Lowest 40 time - 4.28
225 lb. Bench Press - 19

The more i see and hear about him. The more he sounds like a FS more than a SS. I wonder why they have him behind Bell instead? Anybody can be playing better than Wilson right now. Activate him for a game and give him a shot.

Culver could possibly play more. I think Gerbil needs to be replaced and Culver should get more snaps. Young Clemons wants no part of this game, I guarantee you. If he hasn't been good enough to play yet, no need to put him in now. Let him continue to develop.

The safeties were fine against the Jets so hopefully improving. In fact Wilson had a pretty good game. It was the corners that got torched that day (mostly Davis and Allen)

Culver would get my nod for more playing time as he appears to have had better coverage skills this year from what I have seen.

There should be a sticky Thread just for our safety's that is closed and only admins can post updates on what they are doing on a daily bases. I wonder if Wilson stay in Davie, FL and trained and watch flim when others were resting.

I completely agree. I had high hopes for Clemons last season with Spiller and Davis so I watched what games I could. I was ecstatic when we selected Clemons in the draft. He is very promising and I would not be surprised to see him start.

I like the idea of getting some of our other pass rushers involved and I think Tyron Culver makes more plays than any other safety we have. I would like to see a lot more of cam wake, and mostly i'd like to see Charlie Anderson get some reps. I think Wake and Anderson can be great playing opposite each other for years to come (they'll both have to prove that they can hold up against the run though).
