In our past, the Miami Dolphins, before Culpepper, were not only lucky to have two great quarterbacks consecutively (Bob Griese, Dan Marino), were also fortunate to have a list of great BACK-UP quarterbacks like Earl Morrall, Don Strock, and (technically) Jim "Crash" Jenson. So here's my question: Do you believe Sage Rosenfels should be considered our best back-up quarterbacks?

(Wait for poll).

i wouldnt say he was that great he had a couple highlights but not nearly close to enough

no; i didnt hate sage i think he has good potential as backup but we never went anywhere to let him be a great backup. i mean we werent in the playoffs and gus went down and he came in and brought us back. he did have some great moments but nothing consistant and nothing to bring us to the next level like the playoff win or the win to get us into the playoffs.

Scott Mitchell the guy who went to the Lions and sucked and used to backup Dan was real good for us the season Dan went down with the torn achilles.

You have got to be kidding. Sage was a third stringer for most of his tenure with the team. He was the backup QB to the backup QB.

Agreed. Not even worth mentioning Sage. Add it all up and the guy had about 1 good quarter of football with this team.

Damon Huard came in when Marino went out with a shoulder injury and went 5-1 in 1999

I thought he should have been named the starter the next year.

Of course 6 games isn't enough to make a list of best all time but then again we got rid of the guy and he won two super bowl rings as a member of the Patriots.

I love how [SIZE=-1]Sage directed the largest fourth-quarter comeback in Miami history, especially against an AFC East rival, but one game does not a great QB make...

Yeah, I was upset when they started Fiedler over Huard. I liked Damon.

But I think we should have resigned Sage, I liked him. He was what a 4th round draft pick? And wasent givin a chance.

I liked Huard as well. I was hoping they would give him a shot a starter spot after he brought us back against the Colts (I think it was the Colts). It was his first time in as a regular season starter, they hit him and put him on his *** every snap and he just kept getting up and doing his thing. If I remembered all that correctly. A lot of partying between then and now.

I felt

I felt much more confident in Sage Rosenfels than I do in Joey Harrington. Luckily, Cleo Lemon is a beast, he should be our number 2. We should have kept Sage or left it alone.

I liked Sage and that 4th quarter against Buffalo and the comeback against the Jets were great. But he also had that stinker in Cleveland. I'd say he fared well during his time in Miami, but wouldn't put him in the elite class of Dolphins backup QBs.

Who knows? He may end up starting in Houston if David Carr can't produce soon.
