Alright I know he hasn't been a Dolphin for awhile now, but is anyone bummed that he didn't get a chance to be the starter for a season when Miami was in that state of awful QB play?

I really think he showed a lot of potential and just needed the experience, which is why I hope Favre stays retired as I think this is his best chance yet to show people he is a solid, game managing QB.

i've heard or read that about a million times. the only QB who really delivered was Pennington. i think he should have gotten a chance, just like i think Damon Huard should have gotten a fair chance. i'm not dwelling on it though. we made plenty of personnel mistakes during our dark era. i'm just glad we appear to have put that in the rear-view mirror.

I agree completely. At least we have moved on, but I still root for former Dolphins I liked such as Sage and Chambers.

actually,i was rather relieved that Rosenfels is not with us anymore after watching the end of the Colts-Texans game last season. he played well that game, but faltered in crunch time.

he's a career back-up. plain & simple.
my thoughts exactly...I don't know why people want to make players out to be more than they are...Sage is really good at holding the clipboard and coming in for mop-up duty...anything outside of that just ain't him

I liked him a lot but his play is really inconsistent.

You know, I don't think that's a fair assessment. He hasn't had a legit chance to get some real experience. And in the Houston/Colts game his collapse was the result of him trying too hard and not getting adequate blocking.

I think you'll see him shine in Minnesota if he gets the job. It'll be rough for the first half of the season, but I think by the midway point hell start to become more comfortable and then by the end there will be hope for next season.

He had his chance to take the starting job against Cleveland and sucked it up. We lost to the Browns. C'mon Sage. I had high hopes for him. What about the Colts game last year? You can't forget that. HAD THE GAME IN THE BAG AND BLEW IT.

I feel you on the lack of experience. But if you think that guy is going to flourish in Minny you must be smoking Crack.

Fair enough. But excuses are like a-holes everybody's got one. He should have won that game. Regardless of circumstances.

Solid defense. Excellent running game. Decent receivers. He has the supporting cast needed for a QB like him. I think he'll be mediocre for much of his first season with them, but I think hell get with it towards the end of the season and people will see he's not the career back up everyone thinks.

Without a doubt, but I can't hate on a guy who really busted his hump to try and make something happen--especially when he wasn't getting the help a QB needs in that moment. I felt the blame he got for that was unfounded because yea he fumbled and threw that interception, but the fumbles were solely the result of poor blocking. He got blindsided 2 of those 3. The one that was his was the leap of faith that backfired.

However, the interception was completely unacceptable and not justifiable by any means. Just a bad read.
