Now I know i'm going to get laid out for this, but please hear me out first. I have been reading the threads out there and I just want to say that I like Sage he has a nice throw, he showed that in the pre-season and last nite with one throw. Also I think that Chris Chambers needs to be benched one game, and hey I am one big chambers fan (I have his Jersey and Helmet signed by the guy) but to show that he is the go-to guy he has to show the catchand the leadership out there and right now he isnt doing it non of the receivers are eccept Wes. so let me have it and i know some are going to be pissed but if you want to show a person they can do better you need to discapline him in front of others to show you mean business.
 
I don't know about benching chris chambers but he definately needs an *** kickin. Too many dropped balls and lazy routes. Where's a playmaker?
 
I'm all for shaking up the QB position. Sitting Chambers is probably a little drastic, use him for a decoy, hit booker and welker more. He'll figure it out for himself.

Need to get Gilmore in there with his speed, and use him more as well.
 
this thread makes no sense. obviously chambers is sage's favorite target. You cant start sage AND bench chambers...thats a horrible idea

I agree about benching Chambers for a game! He is being paid to be a No. 1 receiver but is NOT producing like a No.1. He needs a wake up call or a reduction in salary. Mental lapses, poor routes, drops....enough! All he needs to do is decide to dominate. The talent is there, but the will is another story.

As far as Sage goes, I'm all for it. With 3 losses in the afc (2 in our division), playoffs seem like a pipe dream. lets see what we have with Sage so we know how to focus our off season. I'm not giving up or quitting like some may accuse. Far from it. I just believe that Sage has just as many wins in him as Gus does and is what 8 years younger?
 
chambers is a super talented WR and I dont know why he isnt a superstar yet. The cowboys game on that one thanksgiving game was his breakout. Not sure if its the qb play or his routes.
 
Chambers is a good number 2 but a below average number 1. Anyone who considers him an elite receiver is only kidding themselves. Elite receivers step up big in big games consistantly. Chambers may have a great game 1 week and then disappear for the next 3 weeks.

He should not be benched, but he should not be getting paid like he is either.
 
Chris Chambers makes the big catches and he is their faster WR.Benching him would be stupid.Also note he doesn't have a great QB to throw him the ball.
 
I would love to see Gilmore gets some reps. If the guy has some breakaway speed.. we could really use it. I am now in Sage's camp. he earned the job in preseason. And no, I'm not wanting Sage to start for 1 pass... but for all the things Gus isn't doing.
 
Unlless Chambers explodes for the rest of the season, I seriously think that Saban will ask him to take a pay cut. I'm sick of waiting for him to "develop". This is who Chambers is guys. He's officially a veteran, he can't improve his game much between now and the day he retires.
 
We're all so confused about Chambers, and even I at one point called him out. But something happened the other night that made me wonder. Sage comes in ONE play, and hits Chambers perfectly.

I know he drops some occasionally, but I truly believe that the quarterback excuse is so valid.

I think it is a separate issue. My issue with Chambers are his drops that hit his hands. I am probably smart enough to figure out the ones that aren't catchable and not hold him accountable for those. He is dropping catchable passes. Now Gussie on the other hand is throwing a bad ball at best. The guys are getting killed because they are twisted and turned to make the catches. They are getting separation and his bad passes are allowing the DB's back in the play...with predudice.
 
If we start Sage Rosenfels why bench Chris Chambers who seems to be his favorite target, not to mention that Marty Booker was injured during the game and we don't know how serious the injury was yet... if Sage does start, Chris Chambers has to start too.
 
In two games with Sage QBing Chambers has:

5 rec for 223 yards with 2 TDs.
