I think some of you guys have some threads to retract. I was actually hoping that I could come to this board today and say wow was I ever wrong about Sage he did a pretty good job in there yesterday. Of course I knew that wouldn't happen but it would have been nice. Sage=Deer in headlights, I know that this means you will need to get busy on your start Cleo threads but howabout waiting a few months.

I hear it loud and clear. I'm just glad he got his shot so that now we know. It's better than not knowing, and possibly bringing him back next year based on familiarity with the system and not really knowing how he'd react during a game if he were playing. Now we can jettison him with confidence.

And Gus too, while we're at it.

Jeez the guy played one bad game, I don't think he is our future and I hope we draft Cutler, but come on people... only one game.

Did they really need an I told you so beating?

Most people just don't want to lose with Gus. I would rather lose with Sage or Cleo in the offchance that they can actually get better than lose with some bum like Frerotte

I think you missunderstood what some of the "start Sage" threads were all about. Many of us (myself included), simply wanted an opportunity to see him in action for evaluation purposes. While I am sure that Sage is a better QB than what he looked yesterday, it gives us a direction as we persue a QB in the offseason, and that is a good thing. We will need to pursue a starter and a backup, something we may not have been sure of if Sage hadn't played.

Hey now we know - this season was a loss anyways -we might as well find out.

I know you aren't doing it in this thread BUT I think a lot of posters are coming on acting like people were saying Sage was going to be Marino. Most of us just wanted to see what we had - for future references.

If you are looking for a pat on the back since you said he wouldn't succeed then hey you win he sucked - but I never really planned on him being great. Better to know than not.

all i was calling for was someone other than gus because gus flat sucks. though sage flat sucked yesterday, i wouldnt mind seeing sage get 1 more start though. if he sucks in that one though, then he's 100% done. i'd also like to see lemon get 2-3 starts at the end.

Exactly!!!!!

The problem is that Frerotte was 2 for 10 on his first 10 attempts too but those bashing Sage won't acknowledge that or his 2 passes that should have been INT'S or the fact that again he overthrew and underthrew 3 passes that most likely would have been TD'S had they been thrown right. They also fail to acknowledge that once again for the 3rd straight week he had the offense 1st and goal inside the 10 and for the 3rd straight week failed to put any points on the board 0. Plus in that situation he had been 1 for 10 in the last 3 games in those scenarios I mentioned. 0-4 yesterday, 1-4 against the Pats and 0-2 with an INT against Atlanta. All netting a GRAND TOTAL of minus 3 yards

He only had 10 freaking passing attempts,

Oh yeah those saying there is a reason he only got 10? Yeah it's called Ricky averaging 8+ yards a carry and Ronnie another 5.7

Why pass when you are averaging over 6.5 yards a carry?

It's bad when your backup has a lousy game....but when your starting QB doesn't play better than your backup....your in deep deep trouble.

IT IS NOT ONE BAD GAME. It is years man, he has been here for years. He is not good and now we know it. Hopefully we don't have to mutter his name for weeks. Sage it out.

its funny how people forget that, Sage is no rookie he's been here for years as a 3rd string backup and has always sucked! The only thing he's ever been good at is holding that clipboard.

And you're all a bunch of liars saying oh we just wanted to see for sure. BS you all thought he was going to come in and light things up, quit lying!
