God that Pats game we had at home was so big for our playoff chances... if we woulda won that game we would be 7-6, pats also 7-6. we would have a very very good chance at the AFC east title... we would even be in the wild card hunt with a record of 7-6. (please dont pretend we have any chance of making the wildcard this year)

just that one game and we would actually be a true playoff contender, instead of hoping for 3 straight pats loss and 3 straight miami wins which is our only chance of getting in the playoffs. (please dont bring up anything about wildcard chances it just makes you look silly)

if we just woulda won that damn game we go from being a 4-12 team to a playoff contender the next year... i'd say thats one hell of an offseason

if only we had 1 MORE WIN we'd be in the thick of the playoff picture =(

still though i'd say thats a great accomplishment coming off a disasterous 4-12 year

Browns Game Was Alost Cause, But The First Buffalo Game And The Atl, Ne Games We Gave Away.

Miami has always been competitive. Miami has won and lost plenty of close games. Once we learn to win those close games (Carolina, Buffalo, San Diego) we will be thick in the playoff hunt every year. Now that Saban has ignited the spirit and confidence back in the playoff hunt. We are a much better team now with that confidence. Our Defense (Lance Schulters) came up big in the end of the Carolina game, our entire team stepped up in against Buffalo, and out defense did an outstanding job shutting down LT and keeping the Chargers out of the endzone in the first half. Our Offense exploded again in the 3rd quarter. Now if we can just find our running game against tough teams... Our team is FINALLY clicking. Our defense is playing consistent, which we haven't seen in years. Our offensive turnovers are going down significantly (especially INTs). our offensive line didn't allow a single sack on Sunday. That's amazing. All we need now is a Quarterback and a shut-down corner and we'll be right back in the playoffs.

Yeah, that really was our best chance for a playoff run, or to set up a playoff run.

If we'd won that, at this point we could take the division by winning the last three, without needing any help.

Our wildcard situation wouldn't be too much different though, except that we could lose the last NE game - or one between now and then - and still be in pretty much the same position as we are now for a wildcard, needing a lot of help. If we won out, we wouldn't NEED the wildcard anyway. So it wouldn't have changed a whole lot there.

True we're not throwing as many INT and Gus is not getting sacked at all...

but he was pressured quite a bit in the bolts game, he is just very good at

avoiding a sack by throwing the ball away quickly. Gus doesn't make poor

decisions very often... in fact Gus is everything you want in a NUMBER 2 QB.

I thought thats WHAT HE WAS when we signed him ......

It has been a good year....who would have thought we would have beaten Denver so easily to open the season and taken care of LT and the Chargers like we did last week. I said I was hoping we could go 8-8 in Nick's first year and I think we can do this, and maybe go 9-7. :)

I wouldn't consider the Atlanta game like the Buffalo and NE game as ones we let slip away. Yes, we did have a chance to TIE at the end, but it was only to tie and Atlanta really played better than we did all game long.

But, the Buffalo and NE games were definite ones we could and maybe should have won. Especially the NE game as we were ahead with less than 2 minutes to go.

i posted the same thing on sunday, but you got to win out this year and feel good for next
