Although I think most of you are more reasonable fans, I have seen enough posts on this forum about how the Saints will be "****y" and over excited about their win against the giants. This is in reference to a hopeful let down, "trap" game where the Saints are looking too far ahead or too happy about their recent wins and success... I don't think you understand what makes this team great. It is the humility and leadership... So let me introduce you to your so called "****y" Saints and what they had to say merely an hour after the win and you tell me if they seem ****y and over-excited:

Coaches press conference after giants game.... fast forward past Tom Couhlin:

I know its a lot to ask you to watch these, but I really really want you to get a feel for the discipline of this team. Its what we Saints fans are proudest of, even more than the offense, the defense, the interceptions, the yards... everything.

We don't have to watch the vids to know that a team coached by Sean Payton and quarterbacked by Drew Brees is going to be humble, hungry, and efficient no matter who they play. But we can still hope against all hope that you guys overlook us a little bit. Can't hurt our chances.

Watched the videos, And this is exactly how you would expect and want your coaches and players to be after a win. It almost exactly mirrors the way our coaches and players are after a win. (nothing like the ****y *at first* and now petty jets fans players and coaches who talk about how brilliant their game plans are and then when they lose blame it on trickery and how bad they played)

Most of us on this board have had nothing to say but praise and respect for the majority of you guys and your genuinely good team. But as dolphin fans we expect to come out and play ball. We know your team is really good but we believe that we can win this game if we execute and play like we know we are capable.

So all the posts on your board acting super surprised that some of us here at finheaven actually have the audacity to think we have a chance to win are kinda off base. Most of us are realistic and realize its be really tough to win this week but we are Dolphin fans, Of course we are gunna think we have a chance to win every game we play.

I'd be ****y if I were the Saints. Nothing wrong with that. ****iness and over-confidence are two different things. And I really wouldn't have a problem if they were. I just want the Dolphins to spoil the party.

Most of our fans are reasonable. We'd be surprised if we lost, but we understand the meaning of a trap game. Its just that we've seen our team perform at such a high level, and then just walk out with intense humility... I think this year is a special year for us. We made it to the playoffs in Brees' first year, and didn't get to progress to the super bowl... I think Brees is ready for the big one now. He's hungrier than I think I've ever seen him. This whole team is hungry, you can feel it. They don't want to drop a single game.

****y is the Jets fan that comes here and runs there mouth all the time, with nothing to be ****y about. The Saints are good, and there is nothing wrong with being confident. Hell, I would be a little confident now as well, they are a hell of a good team. Never met a Saints fan that wasn't cool, I don't know if I can say that about other teams in the AFC east.

Alright alright, what kind of psycho babble propaganda bomb are you trying to perpetrate here. I gotta give it to you, you had me at Intense Humility:chuckle:

I dont think your team has to fall into a trap game for us to win. We can win this game even if your guys have a good game.

But I do agree that you guys have every right to be really damn happy. The saints are really good this year and.. well, just damn fun to watch. Kinda like our fins were fun to watch last monday night. The whole world got to see a really good game where we, for the first time in years (it seems) actually through the ball downfield with success. I Also have respect like I am sure many others with the way that your team has helped NO, I went down there with my girl this year for jazz fest and met some of the nicest and coolest people ever. Great city great people with really good football team. We just want to spoil the party for one night, thats all!

Anything can happen. The '85 Bears were one of the baddest teams like in FOREVER and Diamond Dan beat them like a drum. That being said the smart money is on the Saints.

Accepting the disguised bit of patronizing being offered by our dearly beloved Saints fans, must we now assume that the Fins will be easily overwhelmed by the hugely superior power of the almighty Saints and as such, when the game is over might the Dolphins be allowed to wash the Saints teams jockstraps after we have been totally humiliated by their all supreme and ultimate football expertise!! :/

The reality is the Dolphin players and coaches really don't give a **** and I am sure are looking to get it on.

Seeing Brees continually doing the 'moondance' and hopefully looking out of his helmet earhole after every offensive play will have a major impact and the Saints inability to stop the wildcat with Ronnie and Ricky and with Henne making the key plays when needed will make the difference.

Saints are a good team and might even luck out for a victory but they will know they have played a strong contender so please stop with the see how humble the poor Saints are routine.

Go Dolphins - crush the (humble) Saints :)

Oh God Don't hurt me I'm very sensitive!

I agree with this. If we win, it won't be because they were ****y or overlooking us. It will be because our players executed great plays. And it will take nearly flawless execution for the Fins to win. But this is what being a professional is all about. What a great opportunity. They are all world and we are 2-3 with a QB making his 3rd start, and two rookie CBs competing against arguably the greatest offenses in the history of this great league. Go out and make a statement and play better than you even think you can. This is Seabiscuit vs War Admiral. Its the stuff of legends.

The Saints so far have been a superior team and a likeable one both based on its players as well as for obvious sentimental reasons. You deserve to be the odds-on favorite.

However, fans on your board cite our earlier statistics in making a case for handling the Fins easily. No one seems to understand that we are a work in progress and now, with our canon armed QB, we don't need to depend on the WC to go downfield. With all the hoopla about the WC, do you realize that Henne threw 24 times out of the base formation as compared to Sanchez's 22 times?

Yes, it would be hard, but not impossible to play catchup if The Saints get 2 scores ahead early on. However, if it gets into the 3rd quarter and we play the same kind of possession ball we have, no matter how stalwart your D may be, fatigue will start to set in since they're playing in SFla humidity, not in a climate-controlled dome. If your D, especially the big hogs, lose half a step or worse, all bets are off.

Yeah, Gregg Williams has done a stellar job with your defense but I have to laugh when you guys are talking about his game planning like he's the second coming of Dick LeBeau. He's a seasoned wily coordinator who will no doubt have some unexpected new wrinkles for our young QB and offense. BUT when it comes to wily seasoned coordinators, Dan Henning may be able to see Williams and raise him a few surprise and innovation chips. If The Saints discount that possiblity they do so at their own peril IMO.

You're justified in feeling confident about the outcome of the game, but then again there are some 3rd world country children who appreciated the new clothing:
