Saints cut Sproles

I'd prefer Pierre Thomas. He's older (28-29ish) but doesn't have much wear on his tires. He hits the hole hard, has good hands & can pick up the blitz. To bad the decision was probably between cutting Sproles and him. I'd rather they pass on Sproles.
 
cut over $3.5 mil...surprised...but they really like that 7th round rb i think it is they got and plan to give him a lot of work...and maybe finally mark ingram will get the carries to show he can play...sproles was a big part of the mismatch equation in that offense...
 
After the way we misused Reggie Bush, what in the world makes anyone think Philbin would know how to use Sproles? I would love having Sproles here, he's still has gas in the tank and is still a match up nightmare for opposing defenses.

Those of you that don't want him on the team based on anything other than potential cost need to think on that again. Trust me, if the price is right you want him on this 53.
 
i'm interested...think he'd be a fit for us...even if he's your 3rd back if the price is right it makes sense to me...might come pretty cheap too...2 year deal

only thing that gives me pause is i think he's had some concussions of late that may be adding up...
 
If N.E. gets ahold of this guy he's going to be a nightmare for the rest of the AFC East. Praying he goes back to San Diego (or signs with us).

san diego has woodhead in that role now and they love him...i doubt sproles would go back there...
 
ugghh, NE or the stinkin J-E-T-S. If we let this guy get there get ready to get pummeled liek he did on MNF this year. Glad he was on my fantasy team!
 
Why would he be any better playing for NE than he was at NO? Brady? NO has Brees.

As intriguing as this might seem, I doubt we make a run for Sproles. He'll play for the Patriots or 49ers.

Philbin and Sherman together couldn't figure out how to use Reggie, but reggie made it clear he wanted to be a every down back and hit the holes, Sherman took that to extreme and rarely did we ever use Reggie to his type of game. Is the new OC going to use rbs like the eagles and Chip did? If so, could very well see Sproles fitting in but who knows where he lands, Pats or Denver is my guess... my god Manning have welker and sproles as quick outs and dumps off with the rest of those weapons minus Decker.. can easily see Manning passing the records he just set
