Saints cut Sproles

Exactly. Mix in his return, pass catching, and explosive running skills and he is an excellent option for us as part of a 3 back rotation.

Darren Sproles is a touchdown machine and one of the more underrated players in the game. If he can be had for 2 years and around 3 mil per with about 5 guaranteed I would sign him tomorrow. It wont shock me to see him get a contract with someone for the same pay or more than what he was scheduled to make with the Saints. The only reason they cut him is cap issues.

You are describing Sproles 2011, not Sproles 2013-14. Plus that was in the Saints offense, one of the best in the past few decades. In this offense? Behind this OL? With this QB throwing? We have a long ways to go. Let's let Sproles steal money on someone else's team.

Sproles has proven he can bring a lot of production to teams who can use their players right. We don't use our players right. Lamar Miller doesn't have quite the same skillset, but I'd rather have a young Miller over an old Sproles on the roster.

No interest. Our QB struggles to throw accurately in the flats, Sproles is 30 and did very little in the second half of the season despite continuing to receive targets. It's not the right fit and I don't think he has much left in the tank.

What has Miller shown so far?

You have a new OC who would use him the right way. I like Miller just not sold on him yet.

He averaged 4 YPC behind perhaps the worst line in football on a team whose offensive playcalling was generally inept, with the lack of ability to manage the run game at the core of its problems. Miller hasn't shown feature back capability, but he has shown something.

Let's see what He can do with a new O line and coaches on offense.

Sign him. Dude makes plays and scores TD's. We don't have enough dudes like that, Lord knows...

Doubt it will happen, but could you imagine if we got a pounder and then had Sproles to bring in on passing downs. Sigh!!! It is nice to dream! Right now, we are all trying to get excited for decent linemen instead of play-makers. Could we hope for a little of both???

I think we mean take him as a 3rd down back. you cannot find a player with his versatility in the nfl, aside from shady

#Saints set to cut Darren Sproles today, but they are still holding out hope on trading him. Hear more than 10 teams interested if he’s free

I just don't see the point of getting Sproles when we have Miller. Sproles will cost too much; they should go out and get a power back to complement Miller's speed.
