The New Orleans Saints are trying hard to move up in Saturday's draft for a shot to draft defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey of LSU, and one of the pieces they are shopping in a trade is left tackle Jammal Brown, according to a league source.

Interesting bit of info. I didnt realize the saints were this serious about getting Dorsey.

New Orleans resides in LSU country. I knew the saints would have a hard on for Dorsey since they hear Dorsey's greatness all day long on TV during the college season..

yea but your fixing one hole while creating another. honestly i think they are better served getting ahead of cincy and taking ellis.

I agree with you. I am just saying that N.O. paying alot to move up for Dorsey wouldn't surprise me one bit. teams make stupid moves all the time.

Look at Spielman in Minny and in Miami. There are a plethora of other examples in recent history of wrong moves that were made.

I definitely agree with you that they could/will do it. The point im making is they dont have to weaken one position to fix another. a third or fourth to new england could get them ahead of cincinnati to pick up ellis. ellis isnt as good as dorsey but he isnt garbage either. on top of that they keep brown.

Yeah give up a Pro Bowler at left tackle to draft an unknown commodity at DT who has an injury history. That sounds like something Spielman or Wanny would do.

Dammit ! why didn't they trade with us !!!!! we needed a LT and in fact drafted one with the first overall.... we could've had jammal brown and the 9th pick instead of jake long... wow, ireland and parcells must be really pissed off because if this report is true they missed on a huge deal

Thats really interesting, not sure what the Saints are thinking. What's funny is that a lot of Rams fans wanted Brown in the 2005 draft and were upset that the Saints took him forcing them to go with Barron. The rams have to be crazy not to take this deal.

If they are offering Brown AND the 9th that is ridiculous, I'm guessing it might just be Brown for #3?

hmm never herad of that before. i wonder why they wna give up a LT. somethigns up.

 Brown was an All-Pro in 06'. At LT!! This has to be one of the many ridiculous pre-draft rumors. If this were true, they could've had the 1st overall pick.

Actually, the deal was Jamaal Brown for #2 straight up, or Jamaal Brown for #1 straight up, which is still a good deal, but the Saints were planning on keeping #10, they would need to draft a tackle.

Jamaal Brown would still be the #1 overall pick if he were in this draft though so I'm surprised the Rams didn't want it.

Brown for #2 is a good move, but still creates a hard to fill hole at LT (just ask the Dolphins).

Brown and #10 for #2 is a horrible move. The kind that gets GMs and Head Coaches fired.
