Adam Schefter reports that Browner’s three-year deal is worth $15 million and includes $10 million guaranteed.
Browner would not accept a pay cut to be back in New England, which led to them declining to exercise his option. Browner is now a free agent and appears to have a serious market developing for his services.
Browner, 30, had two years remaining on his three-year, $15.15 million contract, which includes base salaries of $1.9 million in 2015 and 2016, but it all came down to his option and the fact that he would have counted $4.8 million against the team’s cap in 2015.
New England freed up $4.8 million in available cap space by declining Browner’s option.
