Hey i goit a question.... how much do we have left in our salary cap after we signed shelton but before we sign brees (if we do sign him)???? Can i have a link too?

sheltons cap number for this year is probably around 2.6 mil... so just subtract that from what we were before the signing...

umm

so yea all i need to know now is what was the salary cap number before we signed shelton lol

Why do y'all worry so much about "cap space"??

If Miami needs cap space to sign a player, they will create it.....

YAWN!!

ok lets see hodge got 2 year deal worht 2 mil, so we'll say his cap hit is 1 mil
goodman signed a 3 year deal with 5 mil so we'll say a 1.5 cap hit
and we'll say sheltons is a 2.6 cap hit

thats 5.1 in recent signings and i think we were 7 mil under the cap before we signed anyone... so that would give us 2 mil under the cap right now...

but this is all entirely speculation, and we have a good chunk of change if we cut gus and if we restructure JT or zach...

If we sign brres, we will cut ferotte to clear the required space...

Can somebody tell me how the heck they manage to keep signing guys when they where in such in cap hell.
I don't know but they are nothing compared to Denver the master cap manipulaters.

We have $15,866,535 million in bonuses to Brown, Chambers, McMichael, Carter, & Taylor that can be restructured and prorated over their current 4 year contracts. Not likely, but if all were done would save $11,899,901.

Also, we have $19,800,000 in salaries to Thomas, Taylor, Frerotte (if not cut), Booker & James could also be restructured if needed.

Washington & Broncos makes cap room by converting salaries to prorated bonuses on a yearly basis. Helps cap in short term, but puts more and more money on future salary caps. All teams do it to some degree. But not as much as the others because either they don't want to pay that much up front bonus money and/or are trying to manage the cap long-term.

Check out Finheaven's Salary Cap page. Provides a lot of info. And thank Clumpy if you get a chance who puts it all together.

so is it possible if we signed all the people we wanted to pay some of the bonuses upfront to create more cap space the next years??

Yes, bonuses don't all have to be spread over future years.
