Ross wants a franchise quarterback at the helm in 2012. He is said to be committed to veer away from any attempt that would add a “caretaker” quarterback as a potential starter. He is said to be tired of watching the Dolphins field backups disguised as starters.
That the the whole problem in a nutshell, a business man trying to make football decisions.
great, no one "learning on the job" so we get another jimmy johnson/bill parcells in here. aka another failed 3 year building attempt. this organization is a ruin.
but no, we'll bring someone like cowher in here, playing 1970s smash mouth football again and dismantling the team to "build it" as he sees fit again. ugh.
That's cool, our owner said we'll get a franchise QB so we're magically gonna get one from somewhere. These things happen at will, you know.
Since Ross is allegedly looking at the option of a HC with final authority to pick the GM, or the GM/Czar with final authority to pick the HC... at least Ross seems to know what he doesn't know (football) and intends to get someone in here who does. It didn't work with Parcells, but just like whiffing on a franchise QB or a prom date, you have to get back out there & make something happen.
