*That quarterback competition that everybody is mocking? Well, Trent Green and Cleo Lemon really are sharing time...

*Rodrique Wright, injured all of last year, has pretty much changed his body configuration. He's leaner, stronger, seemingly quicker...

*Rookie middle linebacker Kelvin Smith didn't look like much in the offseason camps. But he's been much better since the pads have gone on...

*Recently acquired TE Courtney Anderson is 6-6 and 270 pounds. He should be able to destroy people with his blocking, but I definitely haven't...

*Drew Mormino isn't ready to be an NFL starter right now so the Dolphins are really kidding themselves thinking of him as a starter at right guard...

*Jason Allen is starting to worry me. He is a first round pick that really isn't playing up to the draft pedigree. At least not so far...

Jason Allen is starting to worry me. He is a first round pick that really isn't playing up to the draft pedigree. At least not so far. Understand that the Dolphins need help at CB.

:tantrum:I really hope he was not a wasted pick and starts to pick it up.

jason allen is terrible. it's been a year now and he isn't even one of the top four corners? madison and surtain made great strides from year one to year two. jason allen is gonna be mentioned in the same breath with jamar fletcher. what a god awful pick.

He didnt pick himself as our No1 pick so lets not go full hog and set out to nail the guys coffin shut just yet. This season we will know whether hes a "bust" or just average which to alot of ppl still means a "bust".

This is really starting to bother me also about Jason Allen.

The CB coach Mel Phillips needs to work one on one with Jason after practice or something. Somebody needs to light a fire under one end in order in order to get that light on the other end to come on. Maybe the coach needs to work on his confidence and all that. Something. Jason has pretty good 4.39 40 speed. Maybe it's his technique or quickness or something. I hope nothing is wrong with his hip. Maybe he really does belong at safety.

ill take cashmans word for it that j. allen is at press coverage but needs a little work playing off.

fanmarino, i pray jason allen becomes a solid player for us but he hasn't showed a glimmer of anything. how could this guy get drafted 16th overall? pittsburgh drafts polamalu 16th and he is one of the best in the league. we draft allen at the same spot and he is so bad at safety he gets switched to corner. it just doesn't look good.

Funny since before this year, he had about two weeks last year in TC as a corner. So this is his first year.

Capers said he expects better production from the secondary. Cornerback Travis Daniels missed four games last season because of bone spurs in an ankle, and first-round pick Jason Allen fell behind after a contract holdout. He switched from safety to cornerback this spring.

"He's far ahead of where he was last year," Capers said. "These guys have been in the system now. I think they're playing with more confidence."

I'll worry when Capers worries.

He should have never been moved from safety imo.

Lets see how J.Allen is doing a week from now....I mean they watch film of each practice, coaches need to coach him and figure out whats going on.
To be honest I think he will come on do well..... The offensive line, once again, is what is causing me to be nervous.
On the other hand.... I love hearing all the good stuff about our defense!

It'd be great if Jason Allen could turn it around. However, dolphins football lives with or without Jason Allen. if he ends up being a wasted pick, so be it. Can't win'em all.

Jason Allen should START to worry everyone. Thankfully, it isn't time to close the book on him either. Vernon Carey STARTED to worry everyone in 2005. Now he's a premium RT trying to make the transition to premium LT and so far getting glowing reviews.

Great example, since Troy was one of the league bests right out of the gate and all.

No 16 overall pick that is average is a bust. Not his fault, but prior to the draft I have not heard of him.
