Brown, you see, is going to be asked to carry the load for the running game this year. I know you've heard that before, but this year the training camp talk about this talented player doesn't seem to be merely lipservice.

"I know my workload is going to be turned up," Brown said following today's practice.

Cam Cameron expects Brown to be a workhorse in the mold of LaDanian Tomlinson, Priest Holmes, Marshall Faulk, Eric Dickerson and any number of the other quality backs that previously have made themselves stars in the system Cameron runs.

And unlike the past coaching regime, Cameron seems to realize if Brown is going to carry the load in games, he's first going to have to do it in practice successfully -- at least early in training camp.

Good to hear someone is pushing Ronnie and will use him they way he is supposed to be used.

My sentiments exactly. I think Brown is very much capable of being a tough-nosed RB, but his body must be conditioned for the workload.

I love it hearing he's getting so much work. I was so disapointed in the lack of carries he got last year. I can't wait to see him let carrying the load.

No doubt about that. Last year there were so many games where he was underutilized in the second half.

He was brought in to do so. Having him paired with Ricky in '05 helped the team especially in the second half of that year. I wonder if it was a blessing or a holdback; would it have been better if Ricky was not there and we utilized him as a workhorse from day one?

This is his year to shine. Put him back there give him good blocking and see if he get to 1,500 yards. That kind of production paired with better qb play and we got an offense that SHOULD put his in playoff picture. But then again we had an elite running effort in '02 and....well y'all know what happened. Difference this time would be a coach that understands offense, exploit the talent given, and will not settle for less when it comes to getting playmakers who can and will execute.

I think Ronnie can do it. The bigger question I have is whether our line can open enough holes to enable us to stay with the run. Especially early in the season, it could be rough going.

He got 1000 yds in 13 games, I certainly think he can get 1300-1500 yds this year should he stay healthy. Although I get the feeling like Booker will get his share of carries.

Oh and another thing, Cam does not shy away from using a guy like Brown in the 4th quarter like Mularky does when the guy is getting 5 yds a pop while the defense is sucking wind. Me thinks Ronnie will be carrying the load more in the 4th quarter because of his comments yesterday about the heat being our 12th guy. Its about time someone started to realize the old day dolphins success of how we used the heat and Larry, Jim, and Mercury to piss off the rest of the league complaining about the heat in Miami.

Just give him the damn rock! He has only averaged 15 carries per game since hes been here. Ricky left, and his carries per game average only increased by 1???

**** Mularkey...
