Salguero: The reason the Dolphins did nothing on Monday

I could be wrong, but perhaps the NFL is waiting until after the Superbowl. No need to stir sh*t up during playoff time and squash all the excitement.

I was worried about that. Makes perfect sense from an NFL point of view but it blows considering the predicament we are currently in. We'll probably see the results revealed at the end of the NFL's season; not ours.

So what will the reason be that the dolphins do nothing on tuesday...

probably the owner is smart enough to make 5 billion dollars bur doesnt know crap about running a football team...

So, come up with a few names from Finheaven and submit their names to Ross for consideration for the GM position. Lol. You happen to guess right and now some posters are proven to be more consistent?lol. Data please. Someones guess is always right dude. Get off the high horse.
You want to know who?

It was the members who weren't walking around with blinders on. The members who saw the writing on the wall. The members who were slammed for not being "true fans" due to their complaints over management and their questionable moves.

You dont have to look far to know that - Unless you were dismissive of anything that didnt sound like cupcakes and rainbows.

No PR expert here, but if the report is really bad, it could only hurt if Ross doesn't make a change. If he does make a change before the report comes out, he'll just say that is one reason why when it does.

Unfortunately I can see the NFL stalling in order to hurt us. Quite readily.

Make US make a change last of all (as late as February) and be stuck hiring the assistant QC coach from Southwest Rhode Island State. IF there is a coaching change, which I am not so sure we should even be considering. About gm...

I THINK I WILL START A THREAD...

Defense bailed him out against NE? WTF? He had an amazing game winning drive in that game.

"Bailed out" would be if he threw an INT at the end of the game to almost lose it and the D had a huge stop. Tannehill was integral to the Pats win.

He throws too many picks. We got robbed in several games this year, but when all Tanny-Hill had to do is win 1 out of 2 games to get in, he fails.

Predicting, what Favre did and then say Tanny-Hill will follow suit is not a good example.

I could say Andrew Luck got picked by the worst team.

Facts are, Tannehill failed.

Ross had already made up his mind that he wasn't making changes. The only thing people are missing here is now he must come up with an excuse to keep them in spite of their failure.

Once a person arrives at a conclusion, the decision is made. Now he just needs to justify it in his own mind.

He will posture and delay and piss off the fans. The board will be filled with people moaning and complaining about no word from Ross. Wasting their energy on posts describing how "this" candidate and "that" candidate just came off the market and how they would have been perfect for us.

Ireland got an extension earlier this year. Ireland was reassured in December his job was safe. These things don't happen if he wasn't coming back next year.

And we all know how enamored Ross is with Philbin. Pitch a fork in this topic.

No changes this year folks.

I wasn't prepared to see the team suck as badly as they did when the games actually mattered either. I can't really fault the owner and when millions upon millions are at stake I can't blame him for not making a rash decision. What I can fault him for is the decisions he does eventually reach.

In other words enjoy another year of crap sandwiches Dolphin fans, 6-8 wins and no playoffs again people and then the process of total rebuilding that should have been done when sparano was canned

Yes, but we must also consider the notion that we have yet to prove we can find and hire a coach or GM. Let's face it, after constantly hiring new coaches and personnel, we've yet to prove we are any good at it. So, why repeat the cycle?

As fans, we must understand that hiring new problems only furthers our cycle of shame and failure.

We must put our faith in Philbin becoming a better HC and improving his own faults, Mike Sherman conceding to a more balanced offensive design, Ireland becoming better at drafting and signing OLineman, the acquisition of our own Eddie Lacey, a really good FB, blocking TEs that can catch, Keller and Gibson's return from injury to previous form, retaining our own FAs, Tannehill's continued development and this team developing an attitude that games are won and not given away.

We are facing the wall we've always faced. Starting over simply delays our development as an organization that must breakthrough this wall. If we start over, we simply have to wait 3 more years until we reach this same wall again. One more year to see the complete development of this team with its current leaders is not going to hurt us.

If we wait one more year, then we can start over fresh. We must hope with the entire staff, personnel and players on notice this year playing for their professional lives. Maybe an organization in unified parole can find the strength to overcome their own weaknesses and become the team they were designed to be.

If they can't, go nuclear. But for now, do what we do every year.... hope.

The way I see it the very least it should begin with Ireland. He needs to go. Talent simply isn't there. Hire a new GM and let him decide Philbin's face.

Philbin needs to desperately shake up his coaching staff. The end of the year's collapse is unacceptable. If he's not willing to make the necessary changes then he needs top go immediately.

If he does those things, I say allow the new GM to evaluate him over the 2014 season. But let Philbin sit on the hot seat all next year.
