Sean Salsbury said on Espn that his surprise team, was the Maimi Dolphins. He stated nobody thought this team would win 5 games and the won 9, winning the last 6 in a row. He then went on to say, Saban is doing it right, and should recieve votes for coach of the year...... Talk about your 180's from what he said at the begining of the year........

That happens when you win...

The only people it wasn't a surprise to, was us fin fans who knew the talent we had and were damn sure Saban was going to be a lot better than Wannstedt.

I personally think we had an excellent year from the perspective that nobody thought we'd win as many games as we did..

Get some good off-season draftees, and i think were in very good shape

I remember what he said in the preseason about the Miami Dolphins.

We need to throw him off a cliff.

screw salisbury! at the beginng of the year he had the best quote

"The worst teams in the NFL are the Dolphins and the bears..."

Yup, and I remember when we were 2-1 he turned around and said something along the lines of us going to the playoffs.

Then when we started losing again it was same ole.

And now, he's back on the wagon.

Who cares what Salsbury thinks, he's an idiot.

Salisbury belongs on a plate with some mash potatos, peas and gravy...He sucked at QB, and now as a sports comentator.

Even though it is Salisbury that we are talking about, in August, he only had last season to base any opinion on. That said, all these guys in the media have convictions only to who and which team is hot right now, not what happened last week or last season or what might happen next season...It wasn't popular to give the Fins any acknowledgement in August and it is now....

My concern is that we could be in for a letdown season next year if Saban doesn't make nearly as many good moves and good decisions as he did last offseason, starting of course with a real QB.

We have to assume Saban will continue to make right decisions and acquire good players...If anything, the oulook should be brighter now that he's had one year of experience as a head coach and knows what to expect. The salary cap room is an advantage in '06, so he should be able to get 2-3 decent free agents.

My concern is not a letdown per se (Saban won't allow that to happen), but injuries...for the most part, they were lucky in the injury dept in '05....none of their big horses went on IR or were out for an extended peirod...Saban needs to start building quality depth in the team.
