I don't know if this has been posted in the past or not. The article is a little over a year old. Reading it I can see why he is doing so well.


Brenner has also fostered his undeniable passion for life at Utah and has had the phrase ‘Have Heart’ permanently inked on his right arm as a reminder.

“That is kind of why I got it. It is a permanent thing. It is never going to come off. Tattoos are completely permanent,” Brenner said. “That is something I try to strive for, even outside of football. I always give it my best.

“You only get one shot at it and you have got to give it your best,” he continued. “You can do plenty of things the rest of your life, but you are never going to have a shot to do this again. You have to go out there and play with no regrets.”

There's a lot to like in there. Work ethic. Humble.

And stepping into a position that's gonna hurt your draft status, just to help the team -- wow!

Maybe another (accidental) acorn that grows into an oak!

How come he didn't get drafted? Not even flagged as a decent draft prospect. He hasn't been fazed when given the opportunity.
Congrats to Ireland on finding a very good acorn.
 
Ireland won't get credit for it on this board though.. It's only popular to bash his moves.

big difference between martin and Brenner...I love guys like Brenner who work hard and don't take things for granted.

That's a little unkind Egnew. JMart has a Stanford University education and has/is a much bigger ass than the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz, although maybe his O-line footwork was modeled on some old Judy Garland dance moves.
 
All I know is that was a heck of a play by brenner on the long Thomas run to get out there and make such terrific contact...text book pull and lead play...we have two pull players in him and pouncey and that should mean we can do more work on the edge going forward...both those two had outstanding plays on the move...

Michael egnew blowing assignments as a lead blocker in the backfield...
