Along these same lines, we're told that Dolphins cornerback Sam Madison recently has fired agent Gene Burrough, and has hired Rosenhaus. Though we're not aware of the specific timing of the move, it most likely occurred prior to Monday's events.

i doubt it affects aything sam is already making alot of money(more than he is worth right now)he doent really have any leverage to try to get a re-done deal.

yea but i see him gettni cut as a pay cut wont occure wiht Drew at the helm.

Sam is on his last legs so no loss if Drew wants to play hardball with the Phins for Sam's future services.

I think things will be fine... Its not just Drew... It depends on the player too (see: McMichael)

It does have an affect, it is very likely that we will ask him to take a pay cut next year and make his contract a bit more 'friendly' ... regardless of our current projected CAP #s.

He also knows that this is his last chance at getting any real money, specifically meaning signing bonus ... or deferred money.

He has a max of 2 more years of value to our team, barring catestrophic injuries of course.

Drew is a classless, shameless jerk.
He has a lot of players, but he doesn't have what he wants the most. An elite QB as a client.
Leigh Steinberg and Marv Demoff are the class of that profession and their names are never in the news because they approach their jobs with true professionalism. They don't need to prostitute themselves like Rosenhaus does.

I bet Sam is still mad about taking a pay cut to be able to afford Pat and then next thing he knows Pat gets traded. So I dont know how willing hes gonna be to take another cut. And while its true sam doesnt have leverage he does have the fact that the Phins need him, if we let sam go we are handing the reigns over to a 2nd year player and a 3rd year player. I think we need him and while there is no reason to raise his pay I dont see us to be in the position to threatin to cut him if he wont cut his $$$.

Hey SAM! Instead of firing your agent, why don't you try intercepting the ball once ever 36 months or so? That'll probably help you more than anything!

Some players have no loyalty. His ex-agent got him a pretty good contract a few years back.

I say get rid of him. He has no INT's in eternity. If he wants to play hardball then he'd better realize that he's not delivering on his part. The name Madison on the back only inspires so much fear in the WR.

I like Sam, but he needs to step it up. Pat was basically carrying his @ss the last few years.

hes afraid of loosing the deal he has now because he has not played up to it, he needs to step up his season quite a bit to keep that same deal

It won't affect much...I highly suspect that SM will be gone next year, particularly at his current salary...He'll be given the opportunity to play the FA game, IMO and when he gets no suitors that want to pay him what he thinks he's worth, will be back at a more commensurate salary hit...

sam wants to throw a circus this year around christmas. he just got his clown.

I can't believe the misconception that Drew is a good agent is still so widespread this year. He failed a number of holdouts, resulting in everything from bad blood between players (Green Bay anyone?) to someone getting fired (TO).

He's shown a complete inability to do what's best for a number of big name clients this year, and why anyone would hire him and not a guy like Steinberg is beyond me. He's more like one of those ex reality show celebreties that are always around to comment on things but never really accomplish much.

What are you people talking about? He hired drew for free agency next offseason, plain and simple. Miami will release him and not even entertain reworking his contract.
