Sam Madison, Patrick Surtain, Zach Thomas, Jason Taylor

All four guys exemplified the type of player that any fan would want on their team. They were class acts on and off the feild and the type of role models you would want your kids to look up too. I became a dolphan at a very young age but I didn't become a real hardcore fan untill my late teens early 20's. I'm 31 and just about the same age as all the guys listed above. I've seen every game they have played as Dolphins and as corny as it sounds I almost feel like I've grown up with them. Altough they will probally never get the acknowledgement as being one of the best defenses, ( mainly because the offense they had to play with, they gave me many Sunday's worth of enjoyment. Three hours to escape from life and just enjoy football. I just wanted to thank them for all the years with the dolphins and I hope they will all get to experience what Sam did this year.

I agree fully.. I have always enjoyed every fin game I could watch.. I used to tape them when I was a kid, so I could go over the plays & try to do the things they did in school sports..

I tried that fake spike that Marino used against the Jets in a high school game but no one knew what I was doing, lol, them was the days

can you imagine, all 4 of them coming back a few years from now, for 1 last shot at winning a title with the team they belong with, and then they retire together exactly where they belong

I agree, we could only hope to get guys of any of their caliber at their position. they will always be dolphins.

i remember me crying at the thought of him leaving miami, i think we all cried at the thought of Sam and Pat leaving Miami and were all crying now with ZT and now most likly JT leaving

IIRC, one of our members here ran into Madison after the Super Bowl. He told Sam that he was a Dolphins fan, and Madison said something along the line of: Remember that win was for you guys too.

Still miss that guy.
