Will get us in trouble this year if he doesn't learn to contain the outside, every running play of long gain is on his side and outside of him..He needs to work and fix this. :yell: :fire:
 
A leopard doesn`t change its spots...Sam has always been suspect against the run, tackling ain`t his forte, you know. Still good against the pass though, and that`s why he`s on the team.
 
i think sams gonna have a good year. no more distractions. he knows that he is now the leader of the secondary
 
also anyone see how pat got burned twice last night against the seahawks
 
um i'd just like to say, that in the terms of defense, long runs to the outside should be blamed on the outside linebacker and the D-end. The corner is just a last resort. the D-end should contain, and the linebacker should make the tackle. if the play goes right at Madison, it means Spragan and Carter or whatever combination it is, are either blitzing, or just not covering their responsibilities. either way, it shouldn;t be that big of a problem.
 
your right....every big run has been to the outside and i always see #29 getting caught inside....sam looks old and slow...he'll be fine thoe
 
You guys (by you guys, I mean the announcer that had just stated it on the TB game replay prior to this post) are right.

thank you. its ridiculous to blame a corner for poor run coverage. you could actually blame a safety long before you can blame a corner.

Madison is not soley at fault here. The Safties over comit constantly. This team might be in trouble at safety.
 
well stabilize at safety when lance gets in the lineup. wether that pushes jones or bell out of the starting lineup, im not sure, i havent seen enough of jones or bell's play to make a judegement of that
 
anyways arent we all expecting a bit of change once the axe starts falling around the league, youve got to figure were going to look for veteren corner help also

Yep...and woe is me, or anyone, to comment negatively about Surtain :rolleyes: ..... but his play last year here was average at best, slow, consistently late, and disinterested. Showed what kind of player he is when the chips are down or he is hurt. I'd say 2 of his last 3 years here were OK.

Loved Pat's years here and he is a good guy, but I don't miss him and don't regret anything.
