Sam did a pretty good job tackling yesterday. If he can continue to do that I wouldnt mind seeing him return next year. Hope there isnt a thread on this already.

he was horrible again, he is done!

He was burned too many times, we are lucky we got to Collins or it would have been a long day.

Madison was the one player I really focused on all game yesterday, and he played horribly. He blew several coverages and save for just one tackle, he played below mediocre. I think Sam knows he is done here after last week, and he is only puting out enough effort to make him an interesting trade/FA value.

Did we watch the same game?? Yeah thank heaven for Collins!!;)

From what I saw he didnt play that bad. He made several tackles and I only saw him arm tackle once maybe twice. As far as the blown coverages are concerned how do we know who blew the coverage on that pass I am sure you are referring too. It could have been the safety. I am not saying he is a shutdown corner, but to say he played horribly is a bit much. Reggie Howard played horribly a few weeks ago. Sam hasnt played to that level yet. He is a terrible tackler, but check your Tivo yesterday was an improvement. Thats all I am saying.

I did see him tackle Jordan while being blocked by a WR. It was a physical play so I was surprised it was him and not a safety. If he didn't make that play Jordan would have been running for a long time.

Sam Madison heard Nick Saban's message loud and clear and he played that way. He did a GREAT job of improving the things that Saban was harping on...toughness, tackling, etc. Sam made a number of very difficult tackles and really "thudded up" like Saban wants. On one tackle he literally took on Courtney Anderson with a full head of steam, who probably outweighs Sam by 70 pounds, and stopped him from reaching the goal line. I mean there's Anderson with a full head of steam running with the ball in his hands from the 10 yard line straight toward the goal line and the only thing in his way is Sam Madison, and Madison basically stopped him dead in his tracks at the 1 yard line. I'd be surprised if Anderson got more than a yard of yards after contact on that play. THAT was a message tackle for Sam, that he heard Saban's message loud and clear.

Madison is like having a spoiled bratty 10 year old at home. Let's say he's real good at taking out the garbage, but won't walk the dog. You tell him he either walks the dog (like Saban said about tackling) or he's grounded. The following week the dog gets walked, but the garbage doesnt' get touched. You could tell Madison concentrated on making a tackle or two, almost "in lieu" of effectively guarding anyone. It seemed nearly intentional to me, as if he were saying "OK Nick, I'll tackle, but you can find someone else to guard". I'm telling you, this egocentrical a-hole has 10-year old juvenile mentality.

Right on point. I agree wholeheartedly.
