I was very up beat about what Tannenbaum was doing till Byron “I can’t do a push up” Maxwell unexpectedly came up limp.
But, now that Maxwell and Alonso are coming for only a five spot downgrade in the first. I can understand it – with two caveats: one they make the right choice at 13 and they don’t miss out on a superstar at #8-12.

I get the trade, a chance to get a player or two who, if they rebound, can be very good players. It’s a chance. It’s a gamble that even the best sportsbooks might balk at, but if even one pans out then Miami has won. If both do, then they will prove to brilliant.

Their is a chance – for you jaded skeptics, I admit it’s slim- they kill it at #13 and have both players return too form and Mario plays with a fever of pride. If that’s the case then Tannenbaum will get kudos and the Dolphins will take a big step forward.

It is a BIG if! And it still leaves Miami without guards, a running back, linebackers and a legit starting corner. Free Agency has just started and the draft is months away. It could end up being the “same old” Dolphins, but then again maybe not!

Tannenbaum will move up to get a player he wants, no doubt about that

Nope Same **** Different Season. You want me to believe in change, then fix the ****ing offensive line everyone has known was a problem since Tony Sparano was coach. Until then, color me unimpressed.

I aint that mad about the trade...got 2 potential starters for just swapping picks and there will still be talent at 13....we have alot of holes and we aquired 2 players making this deal

It doesn't deserve the drama I've read on this board the last two days.

When do we find out what compensatory picks we will be receiving for Miller and OV? Once we know that, we'll know what ammo Tannenbaum has to navigate this draft...

I don't hate the trade at all, as long as both players stay healthy..

It is essentially a two for player for nothing trade. Moving down five spots is not that bad. It is not like they completely gave up their draft pick. I think they are aiming for the best offensive player available in the draft after getting so much help on defense. Would not be surprised if Adam Jones is added very soon as well. I am just hoping that Zeke Elliot drops to our spot. That would be perfect. Real talk, I am not happy about having to see Matt Forte twice a season with Jets. Could have been worse. He could have gone to the Patriots.

The comp picks aren't until next year.

Tannebaum has no issue trading up for a player he likes. If he can still somehow trade up into 6th or 7th and get VH or a Jack or in a dream world Ramsey id lol so much.

Are the picks for next year's draft?

Since most experts and fans don't like what the Fins are doing compared to last year maybe they will surprise people and actually make some positive noise when the season starts.

Yeah but then there's Tannehill so....

It's a stale plan that doesn't work.

Let young talent the team drafted and developed into legit players walk after their rookie contracts have expired (Oliver, Miller, Matthews) and overpay for worn out players and/or draft picks or dropping for injured players on the decline. To top it off structure contracts so payment for services this year will be spread out over the next several years so the team will have to deal with salary cap restraints down the road.

The perennial good teams that go to the playoffs time and time again and challenge for the SB don't follow this strategy. It's just bad business.

I'm all in for the trade as long as these guys are healthy.
2 potential starters for swapping 5 places in the first round, is a good return.
They may already have their eye on someone that they know should be available at # 13.
People on this board really over react.
When the rumors of this trade started, they were saying we gave up 4 draft picks including our first rounder.
People need to have a little patience till everything plays out.

This team does medical evaluations about as well as they draft offensive linemen.
