I've had nothing but great things to say about Morris since the middle of last season. He's not going to be the league leader in rushing, but the guy is a quality player, and should start until Williams is back.
I don't want anyone to assume I believe Brown is a bust. I think he's young and unsure at this point. He hesitates when he should be pounding, and displays a rookie’s vision. The games will slowdown for him, but that comes with time. He didn't even have an entire training camp. Of course he needs carries but he can get those carries as a #2 back (#2 behind Morris, then #2 behind Williams).
Obviously Carnell Williams is having amazing success, but he's the only rookie playing at a veteran level. He's destroying the curve for all rookies, but that isn't to say the entire 2005 draft is a bust because of it.
He only had 12 carries the entire game, and it's obvious he had so little because he wasn't productive (not to say it's all on him, but a good portion is). There's no good reason for Sammy Morris to be spelling him at this point. He should be starting and Ronnie should be learning. If we’re trying to win, it’s the most logical choice.
This isn't anti-Brown, it's Pro Sammy.
