I've had nothing but great things to say about Morris since the middle of last season. He's not going to be the league leader in rushing, but the guy is a quality player, and should start until Williams is back.

I don't want anyone to assume I believe Brown is a bust. I think he's young and unsure at this point. He hesitates when he should be pounding, and displays a rookie’s vision. The games will slowdown for him, but that comes with time. He didn't even have an entire training camp. Of course he needs carries but he can get those carries as a #2 back (#2 behind Morris, then #2 behind Williams).

Obviously Carnell Williams is having amazing success, but he's the only rookie playing at a veteran level. He's destroying the curve for all rookies, but that isn't to say the entire 2005 draft is a bust because of it.

He only had 12 carries the entire game, and it's obvious he had so little because he wasn't productive (not to say it's all on him, but a good portion is). There's no good reason for Sammy Morris to be spelling him at this point. He should be starting and Ronnie should be learning. If we’re trying to win, it’s the most logical choice.

This isn't anti-Brown, it's Pro Sammy.

Honestly I think they should spread the carries to all three backs. Minor has done as well as Morris. RB 60% SM 40% TM 40% and we should be fine...if one play starts having success stick with them a little longer. This is a developing team...it can only get better.

i agree good post. RB could benifit IMO opinion from being the 2nd back

I think Morris should get some more touches but I say keep Ronnie in so it doesn't look like were losing faith plus lets not show we lost confidence after a tough loss.

I was ready to shake my head Hostile but that was a well thought out post.

what is this the Sammy Morris bandwagon? as soon as he fails to produce you will all be on him like white on rice, saying he sux, we should trade him, we should cut him, just support who ever is in the back field and who ever can actually produce with come game time.

No, he is saying we should give him a chance because at this point in time he probably is more likely to help us win football games.

Very good post.

However, I think the starts are invaluable to Ronnie at this stage in his career.

In fact, I think it would be a mistake to take the starting job away from him after Ricky returns.

This is not to say that I don't want Ricky to have AT LEAST 10 carries a game when he's back, but I think that we drafted Ronnie 2nd overall and lets not make the same mistake we made with Vernon Carey last year.

If he starts every game, next year we have a second year back that started every game the year before.

I like that sound of that.
