Why are we still using Sammy Morris? I haven't seen him make a single play all year. He missed the first four games, he's lost several fumbles and he's worthless on 3rd down. If we drafted Ronnie for his proficiency out of the backfield why do we have a pedestrian 3rd down back? Obviously I miss Ricky, but how bad must Lee Suggs have been if he was actually worse than Morris?


Obviously if Morris were cut tomorrow, I'd be very happy.

he is a special teams monster, AND he did good last week
 
Well again a screen to Morris goes no where because he has about as much shake as ol' number 13 used to. I don't care what he does on special teams, he's a liability on offense.
 
I think he is good as a backup we use him a lot for a backup back.

so...you are just a hater... shoulda figured...
 
morris can run it up the middle and weaken the defense. hes a bruiser. thats why hes here. not to make people miss, not to dance, to run forward and hit the defense in the mouth.

Dude, he is one of our best three special teams players. You don't just "cut" guys who makes plays on special teams...unless you think special teams are not important. If that is the case then you need to learn more about football before you post again.

You obviously didn't watch the Green Bay game did you?

That said, I think that was his only big play this year.


Suggs looked pretty decent when he was in, I guess special teams is why we keep Sammy.

I never said Morris was liability on special teams. He's an awful 3rd down back. I don't see how you can dispute that? If he's good at pounding the ball then why is he in on third down when that's not such an option?

And don't call me a hater. I'm allowed to have dissenting opinions. You won't find me on this site bashing Saban, or saying that all is lost. Way to come to a whole opinion based on one post. I stand by my statement that Morris is an offensive liability though. He does not make our team better by being in on 3rd down.
 
I always thought that Travis Minor was a very servicable 3rd down back.. He was always good for a quick 5 yrds.

i haven't seen him once all season in offense.. Why's saban have no love for minor?

Don't condescend to me. I'm allowed to have opinions and you don't need to be a dick when you don't agree. He is a bad 3rd down back, and his special teams contributions almost landed us a 15 yards unnecessary roughness penalty today. Good special teams players aren't as rare a commodity as everyone seems to believe. Maybe saying to cut him was strong but I was pissed off that he catches 3 yard patterns and goes down on first contact on 3rd downs. But don't condescend to me.

pffft...why not...you create a thread just to hate on one of our best special team players. Apparently the coach...you know, that guy who makes millions by making good football decisions, seems to think he is just fine....
 
just for the record why in gods name does mularkee call a screen pass on 3rd and 16 anyway. who throws the ball 5 yards behind the line when you need to go 16 yards down the feild wtf
