The Raiders have named Chris Morris their starting center.

He beat out offseason trade acquisition Samson Satele. Morris, a 2006 seventh-round pick, has better size and adequate athleticism for Oakland's zone-blocking scheme. Satele was getting overpowered too often in practice.

Wow! He can't even start for the Raiders! I guess we made the right call with Grove.

Nothing shocking here, people wanted to keep him and move him to Guard or back up center. Sorry, this large man avoids contact and consistently gets overpowered. People say, "but he started a whole season for us". Yes he started, the oline sucked for that team and he was the leader of it. He's done in the NFL.

That's hard to believe.

lol i knew this would happen. my friend is a raiders fan and he was bragging about satele and i kept warning him that he is god awful in the pass block, so this move doesn't surprise me at all

different things happen for different reasons on different teams with different schemes and different coaches. The fact that Satele is the back up in oakland does not tell us anything positive or negative about our FO or anything.

the season will tell us if we made the right move...i am excited about it but i wont infer nething. .... cool tidbit of info though.

Sorry to see that The CryptKeeper released Joe Cohen (for whom I've been rooting to succeed). I guess if anything does, that really confirms the Trifecta's judgement.

Yep :rimshot:

I agree with Jersey Dolfan. Chemistry has a lot to do with everything. 2007 during Satele's rookie season the offensive line jelled with themselves and R. Brown. Brown was steering toward a 1400 yd season and ave. over 5 yds per carry, after he got injured the chemistry left. Had he played... continued...some of those now discarded linemen would probably be recognized as all-stars. Nobody knows.
Things happen and now its over. If Brown didn't go down maybe we would have won 4, 5, who knows and everything would be different, but, didn't turn out that way.
Anyway never know what anything that happens. HOF C Jim Langer…wasn’t he a reject from some other team? What about HOF G Bob Kuchenberg? Another reject?
