Active Roster
To all out there who noticed the continuous minimal results of the running game against New England, you really need to understand basic physics. We ran up the gut 75% of the time and did not gain more than 3 yards all but 2 plays. You can point your finger at Samson Satele all you want, but he has anchored this line since he arrived. You find a center in this league that can run block and push back 360+ lb Brick "Crap" House Wilfork and I will stand corrected.
In 11 games this year, the core of the running game's success has come not behind #77, but the center of our improving OL. Jake Long has shown strides of improvement, but nowhere near Satele's improvement his first year. Now I know you skeptics will say it is two completely different positions, but it is that very same argument that has me scratching my head at why a lot of people are targeting Satele now because of the inept performances against Arizona, Baltimore, Seattle, Oakland, and the latest New England.
If the center position cannot create space between the tackles when facing a 3-4 defense, which is being used by more and more teams, then it is the responsibility of the OL coach and the OC to creat schemes to move the Nose Tackle over by adding a motioning tight end or a fullback into the 1 or 2 hole to help the push on the NT. I think we need to look at the REAL problem. THIS team is not LAST YEAR'S team. There is a chemistry being built. But as in ANY chemist's labratory, you have to try different formulas, different additives, different removals of elements, and BLOW UP A LOT OF EGOS TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS. This staff and base of players are all part of this process.
I know it is easy to want to point fingers after losing, and especially losing to the Patriots, but if we all truly looked at our Miami Dolphins, we should be proud of what they are acheiving NOW, not what they AREN'T acheiving or didn't acheive last year.
You should be very proud of your Dolphins, FIN FANS! They have already started the road to winning. Unfortunately, sometimes losing is the only way to know how much winning is worth working towards.
Leave Samson alone. He is a quiet giant who continues to lead by example. LEt's do the same as Dolphin fans. Remember, we weren't looking for revenge this year for the 2nd game. when the second game against New England hit. THEY WERE LOOKING FOR IT AGAINST US. That's the first step.
GO Dolphins...
