To all out there who noticed the continuous minimal results of the running game against New England, you really need to understand basic physics. We ran up the gut 75% of the time and did not gain more than 3 yards all but 2 plays. You can point your finger at Samson Satele all you want, but he has anchored this line since he arrived. You find a center in this league that can run block and push back 360+ lb Brick "Crap" House Wilfork and I will stand corrected.

In 11 games this year, the core of the running game's success has come not behind #77, but the center of our improving OL. Jake Long has shown strides of improvement, but nowhere near Satele's improvement his first year. Now I know you skeptics will say it is two completely different positions, but it is that very same argument that has me scratching my head at why a lot of people are targeting Satele now because of the inept performances against Arizona, Baltimore, Seattle, Oakland, and the latest New England.

If the center position cannot create space between the tackles when facing a 3-4 defense, which is being used by more and more teams, then it is the responsibility of the OL coach and the OC to creat schemes to move the Nose Tackle over by adding a motioning tight end or a fullback into the 1 or 2 hole to help the push on the NT. I think we need to look at the REAL problem. THIS team is not LAST YEAR'S team. There is a chemistry being built. But as in ANY chemist's labratory, you have to try different formulas, different additives, different removals of elements, and BLOW UP A LOT OF EGOS TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS. This staff and base of players are all part of this process.

I know it is easy to want to point fingers after losing, and especially losing to the Patriots, but if we all truly looked at our Miami Dolphins, we should be proud of what they are acheiving NOW, not what they AREN'T acheiving or didn't acheive last year.

You should be very proud of your Dolphins, FIN FANS! They have already started the road to winning. Unfortunately, sometimes losing is the only way to know how much winning is worth working towards.

Leave Samson alone. He is a quiet giant who continues to lead by example. LEt's do the same as Dolphin fans. Remember, we weren't looking for revenge this year for the 2nd game. when the second game against New England hit. THEY WERE LOOKING FOR IT AGAINST US. That's the first step.
GO Dolphins...

Oh i think samson and justin smiley are the best o-linemen we have. Jake long is maturing and in a few years will be great. But as for me, samson satele is a good solid player that we need. Hopefully he'll be with Miami for years to come.

Satele got pushed around all day, the Patriots game was not the one you want to use as an example of how good Satele is.

Please. Satele blows and always has. The only good linemen we have are Long, Smiley, and Carey is adequate.

i agree totally - i belv satale has the potential to be one of the best Centre's in the game.

To create really gd offensive line, you need cohesion, i belv we resign Carey(if he dont want to much) Don Thom back at RG next yr, and we got the potential for the best O-line over next 5 yrs

he really got pushed around by wilfork, jeff saturday usually has his way with wilfork to answer your question. hopefully this pounding motivates him and pushes him to a higher level.

Are you kidding me? Satele ****ing blows. I was on the Satele bandwagon after his rookie year, but he has done nothing since. He's abysmal at run blocking. OK at pass blocking until a big NT or blitz comes his way, then he gets pushed around like a punk...

It is time to just acknowledge the truth, Satele is not a good Center. Good centers can block Wilfork at least half the time. Satele got manhandled ALL DAY.

Many people have expectations of Satele that are too high. Many people on this board give him too much credit. He is a second year player that shows promise, but he is in the bottom half of active centers. He is still very important to this team, but the position could be improved.

Until somebody reviews film from the entire season, we cant come up with a real analysis of his play. So he had a bad game this week, it happens. I still think hes a good center. I read somewhere on this site that he might be switched to G which I dont think would be a bad idea except that Thomas and Smiley look to have those positions locked down.

If Satele blows then the rest of our guards suck as well. I think Satele did a good job at taking care of Vince. In a 3-4 alignment vince is taking not just on Satele but on either of our other guards as well. So there are 2-3 people dealing with the noseguard and he just basically stuffs the middle heading to the left or the right. It did not work well during running situations but we managed to give time to our qb to throw the ball which is what matters. Does Satele suck? No; however, he is not one of the best centers and we certaintly understand that.

What gave you the idea that Satele had a bad game against the patriots? We managed to put in almost 30 points but our defense gave up 48 points. If we played good defense then the game could have ended no further than 30 points.

I agree Satale was given a 'power' lesson by Vince, but did you watch Monday night game between Colts and Charges.

Jamal Williams who is similar to Vince, was manhandling Saturday before he went off injured. Madden even said, who was for O line man, you cannot single team him, he has to be doubled team.

WHY didnt we help Satale out against Patriots, he was single manned nrly all day.

I belv Satale is one of the most promising centres in league and should be given time.

Satele has arms that are way too short. His arms are only like 30" which is unheard of for an o-lineman. That hinders him more then anything else. He will NEVER be anything other then an ordinary joe in the NFL.
