Bears/Lions was game of the week on NFL Network. Goodman got torched on a long 60 yard or so pass play where he was out of position. Keep in mind that was against one of the worst pass offenses in the league with Orton throwing it. Goodman did not look like a physical corner either, i.e., weak tackler and not physical. I hope he was just having a bad game, because he looked alot like a faster version of Reggie Howard. Right now I am hoping he is nothing more than a dime back (not even nickel) and depth at the end of the bench. I hope he is here to take Kiwaukee Thomas' role, because from what I saw, he was beaten like a drum on more than one occasion.

We still need an impact corner be it through free agency or the draft. If we get Tye Hill, maybe Hill and Daniels start with Poole the nickel back since he is coming off injury. The fourth corner would then be Goodman.

One thing to keep in mind is coaching. The Lions were pretty much horribly coached all the way around, in every facet of the game.

At LSU, Saban had two outstanding CBs. One All-American in Corey Webster and one good player in Travis Daniels. CW was picked in the second round by the Giants, TD came to us in the fourth. By the end of last year, it was clear that TD has a better season than Corey Webster.

The point is if a guy has talent, Saban has proved that he can put the players in position to be successful. I think Saban will be able to coach all the DBs (Poole, Daniels, Mitchell, Thomas, Goodman, Rookie) to be effective in this system and I think the whole of the secondary will be better than the sum of its parts.

I might be going out on a limb here..but maybe...just maybe...Saban and company has seen a little more film of the guy than just one game. I also believe that he will mostly be involved in nickel and dime packages. I think we will still go after a bonafide starting corner.

The Bears racked up 218 net passing yards including overtime, so it wasnt a team getting torched all over the place.

Just saw the the dolphins and raiders game and reynaldo HILL looks good he tackled alex smith and lorenzo diamod single handedly and also ricky got dropped by him.... he look pretty good in coverage too i dont think gus threw his way the whole game....so looks like we gotta stud in the making with him (will make a great safety)

he's suck b/c you seen him get beat for a 60 yrd td?
That`s what I was thinking, every corner in the league has a clip of them getting beat for a TD.

I hear the guy is more of a nickel/dime back who excels in run support.

Yeah exactly, I really don't think this guy was brought in to be a starter, just to add depth.

I wouldn't stress over it, Saban is a secondary coach first and foremost. Goodman hasn't made the team yet.

Yeah you polyannas are right. Goodman is AWESOME!!!!!!! Minimum 8 peat for the dolphins!

There is nothing false in my statement. Goodman better be 4th on our depth chart at corner or we will be in trouble again back there. Book it.

Kids, a little realism never hurt anyone.

Thanks for the pep talk Geforce. I was just sharing what I saw. A board where we all just write in garbled English how wonderful the Dolphins are would be incredibly boring and dull. I'd prefer to discuss realistic Dolphins football with fans who are willing to engage in honest discussion. During the offseason, that involves a discussion of how best to fill holes and solve weaknesses.

If someone wants to reassure me based on facts and not some rah rah speech, then we might actually have a legitimate discussion.

If you want to back up your comment with something concrete, I am all ears. I'd love to be wrong and Goodman actually is starter material in a good secondary. Explain to me that he is and why.
