Say what you want....but Luck?

It's forecasted to be a very strong QB class this year and Luck is considered by Everyone to be the best of the bunch. There's a reason for that... I def agree with some other people here though, if we don't get the right coaches in place I don't care who the QB is, we will still suck. Unless Peyton comes back healthy and demands a trade to us lol, but seriously he's the one player in the history of the NFL that makes a terrible team a SB contender every year.

I couldn't agree more.

Tim Tebow was/is touted as the "greatest college football player of all time".....what has that equated to in the NFL. Does anyone seriously see Luck as making an impact in college as Tebow? Now he is a 3rd stringer.

Actually, coming out of the draft most people thought that Tebow would stink in the NFL and felt that Josh McDaniels reached horribly drafting him. In limited action Tebow has actually performed very well and yet he is still being trashed because guys like Merrill Hoge don't like his throwing motion. Luck and Tebow aren't even comparable.

Tebow is better than Kyle Orton and he will show that later this year. I'm glad we didn't trade for Orton, he's another guy who isn't very good.

LMAO...only on finheaven do we see this. The SURE FIRE QB that is coming out gettin rideculed by an average fan. Awesome!!

I didn't ridicule him.....I ridiculed people that want to polish the ROY trophy for the guy. I see that he is a good player.

What are your scouting credentials?
I have gone and watched every video I can find of Luck. No doubt he is a gifted athlete and a good QB.....but I don't see an elite NFL quarterback. Go back and watch everything you can find on Peyton.....you could tell even in college that he just had an NFL caliber mentality even in college. Peyton lacks his physical ability of course but there has never been a QB with the mental football genius as Manning. THAT alone is why he will go down as one of the greatest QB's of all time.

Again, Luck is very good......but I just don't see what everyone is creaming their pants about. I don't see a QB that can start in the NFL right away and make a team a contender. I agree that we need to be more aggressive and go after an elite QB but I believe you are all setting yourselves up for disappointment if you think we will be headed to the SB if we get this kid.

I'm all for drafting him to see what he could do but I wouldn't look at him as the great white hope for the Fins. Should probably a little more cautiously optimistic than just blindly give up our first born for him. I just don't see it as warranted.

No sure fire things in life but taxes and death. Luck is pretty darn close though. Anyone who understands QB play and has seen him play understand he has the mental, physical and mechanical prowless to be an exceptional NFL QB. Something we haven't had in years and most teams have never had. He's worth any and every thing we can do to get him. There are other good QB's in next years draft, but he's the creme de la creme.

What are your scouting credentials?

His scouting credentials are probably the same as Jeff Ireland's.

Great footwork, great pocket presence, strong arm, accurate, can make all the throws, leadership qualities, studious, came to a losing team and made it a winner. Nah, we should draft a big lineman with a history of leg injuries

Andrew Luck has it all. I really dont know what more you could want from him. Size, intelligence, work athletic and accuracy. If you want leadership, the guy leads by example..

I agree tho that if we dont get the right coach then he could be ruined.

I live in So Cal and have watched just about every game luck has played.... you have no basis or fact to back up your argument that luck is overrated at all. Not only does he have the physical gifts to succeed at a high level in the NFL but he he also has run a pro-style offense and has been lauded by just about every coach on the offensive side of the ball at Stanford as probably the most intelligent/Football smart signal caller they have ever had (and this is stanford, not FSU). He runs a complex offense with tons of different formations, shifts, etc ... hell, the guy has a set of play cards on each wrist AS WELL as one that his center wears during the game. He is able to manage a game, audible, and read defenses at a level rarely ever seen in college.... if in all your "film study" you didn't see any of that then I think it is fair to say that you should stick to your day job...

I've seen enough of Luck to know he's the real deal. I'm no NFL scout or anything but he has all the mechanics and skills to be a franchise QB. Maybe he might not tear up the NFL right away but he will be REALLY good

So what are you seeing that you don't like? The kid dosent have many holes in his game and the ones there are pretty small. Nothing in the draft is a sure thing.

Thanks, which team are you a scout for by the way?

Oh, yes...the old "who do you work for response." Well, who the hell do you work for? This is a forum where this is exactly what we discuss...and quite frankly much of the input that has come from this board shows that we may know one hell of alot more than many of the people who do work for the NFL.

What are your scouting credentials?

What are yours? For that matter what are anyone's scouting credentials on here?

From what you're saying does that mean that everyone here that is wanting to get Luck no matter what are the ones with more scout creds? Why?

We all see the same thing and we see things differently. If you are an NFL scout then I humbly relinquish my statements to your expert opinion and I would happily follow your lead and accept any input you have on what I am missing.
