Think about it. Which GM, in the history of the NFL, has said that we are not taking the BPA, we are drafting for need, no matter who is available? :)

When Miami picks, there are very likely 4-5 guys graded close to the same. All can be considered BPA by who we have on our board.

Anyone believe James was the BPA last year or, the BPA for what we needed?

BPA is a relative term. If a DT is the BPA at 14, obviously we look at BPA at another position. What we're tired of are reaches and project picks, when BPA's (especially at skilled positions) at positions of need are on the board.

Let's not try to reverse engineer semantics. BPA is the best player available at the time they are drafting by position needed most

DGB had a great pro day.....I wonder if Tannenbaum being here might alter the thinking regarding rolling the dice on this kid?

DGB, Cameron, Landry & Stills would look nice.

I think I would go BPA 95% of the time. Right now, if the BPA is a DT, no doubt, above and beyond anyone else, I take him. We can have a great line and better rotation. Perhaps we get rid of Mitchell?

and thats Best Player Available For Us...... dont you guys go twisting that on me!!!

Last year we had a pressing need for Offensive Linemen and we drafted James in the 1st round. We may have had players in other positions rated a little higher but our needs largely dictated the pick. This year we can probably afford to genuinely select the BPA and it will probably be a DT, WR, mike LB or O-linemen. So we can probably be a lot more flexible than last year. It will be interesting if they rate Gurley and Gordon really high. These RBs are very good but the depth in the RBs appears so good that we can probably get a good player in the mid or latter rounds.

I do think we have a list of certain positions we will draft.

OL, RB, LB, and CB/S and QB are most definitely on their minds.

Nobody sticks to 100 percent BPA. Obviously the Colts wouldn't draft a QB in the first even if they felt a QB was good.
