Sbnation gives our draft an A-

With all the players the Jets hauled in, they look better on paper.
Our draft took care of most of our needs except for a quality ILB and big RB.

The Jets draft looks good until you realize that their starting quarterback is still Geno Smith.

They had the balls to give New England a C+ ???

Someone will get fired over that one . They always get A no matter what they do :)

i like our draft but think A is a little high. Lots of gambling on small school guys that may or may not pay off. i do like the first three picks.
I say B

I agree. If it were just the first three picks I would probably give the draft a b (not higher bc of the reach for james). but due to the gambling on all of the small school players, and the lynch pick which I hate. I say b-

I love seeing the pats get deserving grades. Their last two drafts were pretty bad overall.

A- is a little high for what Id grade. B/B+ but who is splitting hairs

No we can't get an A b/c we picked so many small school guys (local beat writers focused on that). Seems like a solid draft that filled some needs hopefully. Ready to start season!

I hated the jets draft. Where did they get better?

I hope it's Geno Smith. More likely its Michael Vick. And Chris Johnson at running back. They beat us 20-7 last game of the season at Home with a shot for us to go to the playoffs.
Geno Smith outplayed Tannehill. Cant really talk smack there Dude.

How can that be? According to many people on this site Miami reached for every player and didn't get "value" with any of their picks and they drafted too many small school prospects in the later rounds. Did you notice that most of the guys that actually evaluate players (Polian, McShay, Kiper, and Jeremiah) like the players that Miami drafted, but all of the "weekend draft gurus" who were influenced by mock drafts are the one's who are critical. The small school criticism is the one that makes me laugh the most. A kid from the University of Buffalo was the 5th pick in the entire draft and people on here are taking shots at Miami for drafting small school prospects in the third round and beyond. That is exactly when it is okay to take small school prospects. I actually like the idea of gambling on small school prospects later in the draft if they have preformed well at the senior bowl and other all star games. Many of the larger school prospects are there in the later rounds because they are maxed out as far as potential and you get a pretty good idea of how their talent relates to other big school talent. The players that dominate at the smaller schools are available in the later rounds because general managers are unsure of how their talent will translate to the step up in competition and many of them become undervalued because of it.

2nd grade I've seen with Kiper giving us a solid "B" and now sbnation giving us an "A-". Not too bad from people who know the business pretty well.

Right players for THIS sustem, not just any player with talent, which was the evident mistake made with Deon Jordan, now they need to figure out where to fit him...
