I dont know if this shows how good JT is or how bad out secondary is at making turnovers. But JT is tied on the team for most INT's with Renaldo Hill at 2. and our TEAM only has 8 total INT's which is only 1 better than Asante Samuel and Rashean Mathis who are tied for the league lead with 7

yeah turnovers didnt happen for us during the span of going 1-6

He is also 2nd on the team with passes defensed I believe. Our secondary makes no plays just solid play but u know what? They r a lil behind the pats secondary if not the same but pats are still a Sb contending team yr in and out...with no WRs. U know why? QB and play calling. Simple as that.

i want asante samuel as a corner on this team the pats better not re sign him

asanta is over rated. He playes behind one the best front 7 which helps alot and 3 of his picks were against bears where grossman was tossing to him more than his own WR.

also, their is only 730,000 in cap space for this year and their are 5 teams sitting on 6 million which they will sign as a sign in bonus.also 20 teams next season have more cap then the dolphins and him and clements are the only 2 corners so they are going to cash in.

yeah we should be a one loss team right now I can understand a loss to the Jags but we lose to the Bills, Texans, Packers, Jets, and some other crap teams and thats why were fighting for a playoff spot because this team isides to pull it together now :(

well you can thank that one on the Sabanator. Year 1: he came, he saw, he got rid of and picked one in the 1st round to boot. Can we question Nicky's moves? He's a defensive genius. He loves to coach the secondary more than any other positions. I hope that's not a sign of the future. If so, let him bleed crimson and black.

Asante isn't that great besides if the Pats don't franchise him then the Jets will probably sign him during the off-season.

Stats don't tell it all, our D is top 5 in the league. What matters most is points allowed. I feel we're close, but not there yet. Next season with 2 years under Saban's system, I'm expecting a killer D, one that could even be good enough to take us deep into the playoffs like Ravens when Dilfer rode along with their D to the SB and won it.

our secondary was terrible at the start of the season.

Not really. They had weaknesses but they were never terrible. The Safetys were not good at covering big WRs and TE down the middle but were always at least adequate in run support if not good. I would say at worst the secondary play was mediocre to average at worst. Our issues at offense also makes the rest of the team look worse than they are. In other words the ol' argument that if an offense can move the chains consistently and lose the TOP battle it exposes the defense to more scoring opportunities for the opposition and so forth.

This has been detailed on some other threads. The Cbs had some not so good moments in the first month of the season especially. But weaknesses were made worse cause Daniels and Allen were getting awful safety help in deep pass coverage during the first six weeks of the season. Noticed how the safety pass coverage improved when Bell began to start.

Granted we don't have a shut down corner (in this day and age and with the new pass friendly rules who really has one?) and the secondary most recently allowed tall big receivers of the Jags to eat up in the medium to short passing game last week our secondary is not all that bad. And,yeah if there is a weakness to make a reasonable gripe about is that the secondary is mismatched vs. big receivers who can catch. If we get a Clements in FA or someone of that calibre that would be excellent but not likely. We may be one more safety and a corner for depth who could pick up the pace if Daniels or Allen go down away from being where we need to be. The smart move is to go safety in the draft with one of our first three picks once we go OL with the other two.
