Guys...
I tried this thread before, but I think I worded it in a way that incited more opinion that fact. This time, lets focus on the actual teams. I'm doing this, because I got the local radio station the other day and the guy asked me point blank...game by game...who are you legitimately better than. We went one by one and I was using classic phin homer arguements, but he bashed the opinions and said to stick with facts. So outside of using the "patriot game" mentality...where we say anything can happen...how do we beat teams that will be better than us. Not better coached maybe? But actual player against player. I'm only asking this because I want some reasoning behind the obvious madness that we will go 10-6. When and where do you see that happening?? Here's how I see it and if you question the call then I'll back it up...not just "because" it's what I think...it's what should happen on paper. It's like a regular joe playing MJ back in his day in some hoops. 1 out of a 100 games he could win, but on paper and in real life, MJ mops the floor with him right? Yeah that's right. So what do you think?

Pre-season is a crap shoot but here goes

1 Mon, Aug 8 Chicago W (QB troubles, new WRs)
2 Sat, Aug 13 at Jacksonville L (Leftwich is solid and our sec is ??)
3 Sat, Aug 20 at Pittsburgh L (Pitt is good all over the board)
4 Sat, Aug 27 Tampa Bay W (young team, cadillac will look good though)
5 Thu, Sep 1 Atlanta W (Vick will only play a tad)

Regular Season Results

1 Sun, Sep 11 Denver L (they run a ton, good qb play, champ bailey) we're not better on paper
2 Sun, Sep 18 at NY Jets L (away game, martin and pennington will be healthy)
3 Sun, Sep 25 Carolina L (They are just a man's team, we're still children in comparison)
4 BYE WEEK
5 Sun, Oct 9 at Buffalo W (Qb issues, solid run game and defense...close game)
6 Sun, Oct 16 at Tampa Bay W (aging D, Griese is questionable, gotta stop the run)
7 Sun, Oct 23 Kansas City L (OL are huge, green will have all day, Priest??)
8 Sun, Oct 30 at New Orleans W (I will slap someone who thinks we lose this game...brooks is terrible...they just spent the farm on Mcallister)
9 Sun, Nov 6 Atlanta L (defense is so good, TE, Vick...we lose)
10 Sun, Nov 13 New England W (i think we win this one, Belechick(SP?) vs saban, I think injury finally hits them)
11 Sun, Nov 20 at Cleveland W (this team is horrible all over the board)
12 Sun, Nov 27 at Oakland W (Moss will begin his cancer by now, running game is good, but so is our D, QB is out of gas)
13 Sun, Dec 4 Buffalo L (we will swap wins and losses with all the AFCE this year)
14 Sun, Dec 11 at San Diego L (face it, 12-4 for a reason last year. THey are good, LT, Brees, young good WR)
15 Sun, Dec 18 NY Jets W (Fiedler will lose it for them...)
16 Sat, Dec 24 Tennessee L (Close one, but they are also good...?? at RB, but good WR...real good...McNair is a gamer)
17 Sun, Jan 1 at New England L (we lose in the snow. No doubt)

That's a total of 7 wins and 9 losses. Not based on my gut, but based on what they have versus what we have. IF you disagree, then please back it up with comments. Not homerism. Thanks guys. Look forward to hearing ya out. :)

It is more based on gut than you actually realize. Mostly since at this point you have pretty much nothing but gut after the first 5 weeks. None of us have any idea who will be good and who will be bad. It is really silly to predict who Miami will win and lose against at this point of the season. (Silly for any team versus any team.) There are so many factors.

When did Chad Johnson become a Falcon? Besides the fact that he doesn't suck. You say we beat NE but you have an L next to it. Delhomme is a Panther...

What does Del Homme have to do with Tennessee?

I was wondering about that too... also on the first New England game you say we win but you mark it a loss.

I was wonderning how people can look at a schedule and say we'll win that one and w're going to lose that one. How do you guys/gals do in the lottery?
Look at last year, we lost to the Cardinals, but beat St. Louis.

WHoops...total blunder on my part. I meant McNair. Gosh...you write a huge thread and then forget what you put in it. Good call. Del homme is with Carolina. I'm just dumb.

Delhomme? The Panthers' QB? What does he have to do with the Titans' game in December?
And did you say Chad Johnson sucks? Chad Johnson is one of the better receivers in the league right now, and he doesn't even play for Atlanta. I also disagree with a lot of the losses and wins on your post but that's just a matter of opinion.

I'm not going through the entire schedule. But I will say that we have a legit shot at winning our first 5 games with Carolina being the toughest of the 5. If we go 4-1 in that stretch, which is VERY possible, then we can start thinking playoffs as a real possibility. We will beat New Orleans, Cleveland, I think we'll be Atlanta because Vick can't pass and we have quick LBs and DLinemen. We can contain Vick. We match up well with Atlanta. We will beat the Jets twice! That's right - we will. We will split with New England. KC..YIKES. They are just too fast and have to many ways to beat us. They have improved on defense. Our best shot is to run the ball down thier throats and eat up the clock and keep their offense off the field. We'll more than likely lose this one. We beat Cleveland and Oakland, and Tennesee. And San Diego will come back down to earth a bit. They will be good. But not 12-4 good and we have a shot at beating them. And we'll split with the Bills.
OK, so I sort of went through the entire schedule. We will be in most of the games and keep them close. The biggest concern for a blowout would be against the Cheifs.

I wrote it all in about 1 minute, so I had some typos...I've fixed them now, by the way, Chad Johnson is the backup QB for Vick...not the reciever for Cinncinatti

I think we'll upset Oakland in the Black Hole, and ruin their playoff chances as i can see them being 8-8 or 9-7 this year. I also think we'll beat the Jets and the Bills both at least 1 time, i'm not sure about the Patriots but i know that the games will be close with all our division rivals. No more 41-14 games vs. The Jets.

Jake Delhomme, Carolina Panthers
Chad Johnson, Cincinatti Bengals

C'mon it's really not that difficult to figure out who plays for who if you aren't sure.

OK OK...this is what I want to avoid...you say WE WILL BEAT THE JETS TWICE...HOW??? :yell: I want some facts folks. What tells you we will beat the jets?? The writeup about Atlanta is pretty good. I agree with that, but the Defense is super solid and they have a great running game too...it's gonna be a grinder game I think. Vick blows up one week and then is stellar the next. Never know, but I think we have a shot in theory, but on paper, they have more veterans on the OL and should win.

I think we will beat Denver, Jake Plummer is a good qb, but can be quite erratic at times. Tennesee won't beat us, we have a better D than them. They lost a lot of good players too in the offseason. I'd say 8-8.
