Adam Schefter was on TA tonight and he was asked who he thought is the favorite to start at QB this season. He said he believes it is Chad Henne. He said that Beck is the old regime's QB and that since Parcells and Ireland hand picked Henne, he thinks he is the favorite to be the starter this year and be the long term answer. Just passing some info along.

Yeah, I don't believe that they'll put Henne on the field if Beck is clearly better. Which I think he will be. Besides, Sparano is the coach and he decides who to put on the field, Ireland and Parcells aren't going to risk any tampering accusations by telling Sparano what to do with the team.

and the Beck haters erupt in cheer.....

but, what the f does AS know anyway. I think I'll wait to see how camp and preseason play out before I buy anyone knowing who the starter will be.

I wouldn't be surprised if Henne starts. He'll have a solid offensive line in front of him, and a three headed running attack of Ronnie Brown, Ricky Williams, and Jalen Parmele. You can bring a rookie quarterback into that kind of situation. Beck can still win the job, and I expect the competition to be hot and heavy in training camp. Beck or Henne either way, it's a lot more appealing than Josh McClown! Yeesh!

Sounds about right. I think if Henne dosent impress enough to win the starters job, he sits all the way at 3rd string till he is ready to play full time. In that case McCown starts the whole year.

Beck if he gets ALOT better from last year could be the backup to McCown should Henne not win the job. But, I dont rule out the phins picking up Simms to be the backup should McCown be the starter and sending Beck on his way. If Henne starts then they are fine at backup with McCown.

So basically Beck must have improved a whole lot from last year and hope McCown beats out Henne in order to hang around as the backup. If he didnt improve he will most likely be gone if Henne dosent start and Parcells feels we need a quality backup and wants to get Simms.

If Henne beats out McCown and Beck didnt improve ALOT from last year he could hang around as 3rd string and be shopped in the time being. I would bet he has been shopped already just no suckers...I mean takers. Im sure Parcells would love to have a McCown, Henne, and Simms QB situation.

Yeah, his rationale was that because the new owner was a Michigan grad, that Henne was obviously the favorite. Kind of a throwaway opinion.

Frankly I think Josh McCown is the favorite to start until we see everyone in camp.

I like Schefter as a reporter, but this sounds like pure speculation. His guess is probably as good as ours.

Dude, all our QBs sucked last year because of the situation they were in. Throw in rookie nerves and you get some of Beck's problems. Henne's only got one thing on Beck, arm strength, and that's marginal. Plus, Parcells just doesn't play rookie QBs and I don't believe that any coach from his tree believes in it either.

Parcells rarely starts a rook, regardless if he is not coaching.

McCown
Beck
Henne

so you are predicting that Beck is gone now? WOW!

Please put your money where your mouth is....PLEASE! Beck is a Dolphin for 2008. PERIOD. I say he is. you say he isn't. Loser never posts on finheaven again.

you up for it?

I think with Beck being part of the "old regime" that is the only thing that the anchors/News Casters have to go on. Let's be honest, if Beck is lighting things up you really think they are going to put Henne in just to put him in? Plus from what I am reading about how Parcells/Ireland like to bring up the rookie QBs I don't suspect Henne will see the field this year anyway. Beck just has to do what he has been working on all off-season. If he does that then he is setting himself up to be successful. Don't know about anybody else but I can't wait for some football.

Whoever is playing best will start. The other will make a good backup or trade bait. I see it as a win/win situation. Well unless they both don't play well.

Good news!!! I think Henne is the real deal.
