Schefter was just on mike & mike and said there is a real good possibility that the colts release manning next tuesday, peyton manning will then be able to sign with any team he chooses too, schefter said potential landing spots would be the cardinals and dolphins, said jets, 49ers are secondary teams and washington, seattle, will be in the mix but he doesn't see manning going there, but of course everything's based on health.

Here is something that I have not heard anyone talk about...does a team sign Manning. Sign him to a deal in which if he gets his bonus once he reaches certain health and playing time benchmarks. He would be able to rehab within the team facilities and interact with teammates.

IF he does not return to form, then he can retire without the team using much if any money on him.

Why not?

A team could easily sign him to a 1 or 2 million dollar contract, then have a 10mil bonus if he makes the roster after training camp, and another bonus after the season if plays up to snuff.

If Manning refuses then you walk away.

This is 100% what the Dolphins should do. Makes perfect sense.

Really hope the team would rather go in another direction with Flynn.

Really hope we don't he will ask for a lot of money that he won't be worth, he's as overrated as fisher, in the end of the day after this following season we will still be looking for that damn franchise QB

This is exactly what schefter was saying on mike and mike, he said there is so much to still figure out with Mannings health, he said a team could possibly bring him in and work him out and then sign him to a small contract and put bonuses and incentives in there so that if he reaches 100% health the bonuses will kick in.

I think the guy plays again. I would not bet against him.

he can play here in miami ....folks dolphins are perfect fit for peyton.!

They may release him next week, but it is probably months from knowing if he plays again. Very risky to sign him now and bypass on guys like Flynn and RGIII on the hope he plays again.

Here is a question though, would you sign Manning if the situation was he would not play one down in 2012, but you would get quality seasons from him starting in 2013 for a few years?

and if he does play again, you can bet manning will have a big chip on his shoulder. and a motivated manning is a dangerous manning.
i really believe that peyton manning wouldn't be putting himself through this whole rehab process if he was planning on retiring. imo,

This one's pretty funny. Not saying Fisher wasn't overrated, b/c he probbably was. But Peyton Manning and overrated do not belong in the same sentence.

He was talking about Flynn, not Manning. Get your facts straight.

No I would not. You would then have a guy that has not played a down in 2 years and then at age 37 would be trying a comeback that might never even happen anyway. Now at 37, how much longer you think he'd play?.......Is time to move on from these kinds of QB's and get our own QB.

Ozzy rules!!

Signing Manning to health incentive's laden contract is exactly what any prudent team should do. It also mean that Miami is on the trade down clock, IMO.
