NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Dolphins will trade Jason Taylor if and only if they're offered a second-round draft choice.

Unless a team gets desperate in training camp, a deal probably isn't going to happen because Taylor is seen as unlikely to play beyond 2008. Taylor is still highly effective (he had 11 sacks and three forced fumbles despite seeing constant double teams last year), but first-day picks are too valuable in the NFL. Don't rule out a deal, but don't expect one soon, either.

The only way I see it happening is if someone gets injured. The Cowboys could want him, but they are stacked. Anyways always take Schefter stuff into account.

I hope j.t. retires a dolphin. I love him.

I agree wholeheartedly. i cant wait for JT to get a standing ovation for all his hard work he has done for the dolphins over the years. JTs last game should be played in a fins uni

Adam's information is usually right on the money. If we were offered a 2nd, whoever made the decision to turn it down made a big mistake in my opinion! I would have taken a 2nd round pick in a heartbeat!

From what I've read the best we have been offered so far is a 4th round pick from the Buccaneers. There was a lot of speculation that Jax offered a 2nd but no one knows for sure. I think they would have actually taken that deal if it were true.

Jt Is A Miami Dolphin!!!

I still don't understand why DOLFANS want to trade JT? He's the only playmaker on defense we have!! I don't think we will be in the playoffs, but having JT terrorizing opposing QB's in DOLPHIN uniform makes the Dolphins alot more competative than without him! I WANT JT TO STAY!!

because he said himself he is only playing one more year and this year, lets face it, we wont be contenders. Getting our younger, future players experience will be important to the growth of our team. Now Im all for JT staying and playing with the Phins, but if we can get what is assumed to be adequate value for him then I say we should look to do that.

Theres no way we give taylor away for a 2nd... unless we give up likely at a conditional 3rd. If JT only wantd to play one more year, he's basically has talked himself out if anything big until the trading deadline during the season.

If Jax. had offed a 2nd round pick for JT he would have ben a Jaguar now. Jax did make an offer, but it was only a 4th round pick. BTW what's with these tv ads?

One thing to consider is what teams out there, that would have an interest in Jason Taylor, also have multiple first, second or third round picks.

The first team that comes to mind is the Philadelphia Eagles, they have two 1st round picks next year so giving up their 2nd round pick wouldn't hurt as much, or hinder their draft plans significantly.

Can anyone think of any others?

The Patriots....they got like...3-4 more picks for 2009 draft in the 2008 draft alone, plus everyone knows JT is mad cool with Tom Brady.....but,something tells me Parcells is way to smart to give the best pass rusher in the AFC East to the best team in the AFC East....but then again,Parcells is always about shifting and shaping,so dont rule anything out...
