Schefter reports Miami to sign Bell Next

With the strong possibility that the Dolphins will go all D in this draft, our D might be real scary next season.
 
Sign Bell at 5 mill a year... 4-6 years are you kidding... Bell in his mid thirties...?

I like the guy... but 35-36 in that body...? What about the salary cap 5 years from now everyone will be bitching about that... day they signed Bell who is always "one hit away"...
 
The signing of Bell would create a big time thumper safety combo. The defensive backfield would change to a two safety setup without a designated SS or FS. This would lead to better blitzing opportunities, but it might make us vulnerable to the deep pass.
 
Wilson played FS with the Giants, correct? Did the Raiders move him to SS? I seem to recall that many personnel people felt he was playing out of position at some point recently. Was it with the Giants or with the Raiders?
 
Maybe Bell switches to FS . . . Wilson needs to be at SS tho. I mean he can play FS, but why make that kind of move for a guy to a position that doesn't fit his strengths.

That is like signing Canty and moving him to OLB.

It will aslo confuse the O some.

Wilson played SS for the Giants.
 
I think Schefter may be wrong in this time (very rare he's wrong), I don't think retaining Bell is in the plans anymore...
 
I think this will have no impact on the Bell signings, if anything it should send a message to Bell that the Dolphins are not playing around and are ready to move on with or without him. In other words this may help siging Bell.

I still think we will sign Bell and if antyuing, this spells the end for Renaldo Hill. But can you imagine that, Wilson and Bell in our backfiled......whao!

Yea I mean it doesn't seem logical . . . but maybe they keep both . . . like I said in another thread . . . u would need 2 awesome CB's to pull off a Wilson/Bell safety combo . . . we just don't have that . . . tell u one thing tho . . . teams aren't running on us if that is the combo lol.
 
I can't see us resigning Bell...wilson is the same type player as Bel li, just younger, better and less injury prone.

bell is not is his mid 30's... he is 31 which is early 30's and a 5 yeard deal would be fine
