Schefter says Peppers to Pats won't happen, JT to Pats "realistic".

Well, this is good news. Most on this board have said we should turn the page on JT, so, he must not be any good. I'm all for the Pats getting players that aren't good. Mind you, I'm just using the Finheaven hive mind logic progression here.

Didn't I just see someone post that Peppers is a pat? is that not correct?

I think people say "turn the page on JT" because it was an ugly divorce and cannot see a scenario in which the trifecta tries to bring him back.

That said, yeah some people just think he's sucks because he's not a Dolphin anymore. Pretty similar to heavily pursued FAs who must be signed at any cost, but then are magically overrated or don't care about winning when they sign elsewhere.

JT has a huge man crush on Brady, so i'm sure he would love to play for the Pats. His best years are behind him though.

Big sigh of relief. I thought Jake Long was going to have his hands full.....not to say he wont have his hands full w/JT, but Peppers is in his prime

That's the difference... Peppers is in his prime, taylor is on his way out. but we've all seen that careers tend to be resurected in NE. either way, i dont think anybody wants to see JT become a patriot, but most would much rather face a downhill JT for a year or two than a primed Peppers for the next 4-6.

No. Most people say he sucks based on what he did last season as a Redskin, and that was nothing, nada. No impact whatsoever. He likes the celebrity of being a professional athlete, but I don't think his heart is in it.
Even, when he was in his prime, he padded his stats against mediocre O-lines, but he had a tendency to disappear in big games and was usually dominated by the better LT's in the league (Boselli owned him).
Quick name a memorable play by JT in the playoff losses to the Broncos, Jags, Raiders or Ravens.
For that matter, name a memorable play by JT in any late season game against a division opponent when a divsion title was on the line.

how often were we in position to be in line for a division title while he was here?? No time recently. And really how much of an impact can ONE defensive end have on a whole game?? That's worse than blaming Marino for never winning a title. I dont know very many people who are going to agree with you that JT was only effective against mediocre players because the guy was constantly double teamed. So since Osi U. had 6 sacks two seasons ago against a rookie LT in one game, he must be no good either. JT didnt disappear in big games. How bout the big game he had against the bears in '06 when they were 9-0? How bout when he forced Brady to throw that pick in '04 which helped win that game. there are tons of great JT moments. He was rarely getting shut down one on one with a LT except for maybe boselli in the playoff game but that was JT's 2nd year in the league, maybe third. either way, dont trash a guy that was a corner stone of our defense for a decade.

Why dont we make a push for peppers? Id give both are 2nd round picks for him. Or maybe a 2nd and a 3rd.
