6. Dolphins

We interrupt this Jets vs. Patriots debate to mention the Miami Dolphins. Miami is so prepared and well-coached under Tony Sparano.

And the team got better with the offseason coup in plucking the outstanding Mike Nolan to run the defense, replacing former Syracuse University failure Paul Pasqualoni, who was rightly canned after the season. Nolan was nothing short of brilliant in Denver, and Josh McDaniels will regret the day he let Nolan walk. All Nolan did was turn around a pathetic defense from 2008 under different leadership. Nolan's appointment could be the equivalent of the Saints' hiring Gregg Williams.

Miami's run game is one of the best in pro football. Chad Henne has all the tools.

Jeff Ireland needs to beef up the receiver position.

I won't be surprised to see Miami win 10 games next season and run its way deep into the playoffs.

Falcons, Dolphins and Panthers would be my picks as the possible 2010 sleepers. Falcons and Dolphins were on their way but injuries held them back. Ironically both lost their starting RB and QB at some point during the season. Falcons got Ryan back but it was too late by then, and he was still playing banged up.

I agree. Watching the Super Bowl and seeing two teams we had beat at one point. Gives me hope that we're better than our record was. We had a horrible year with injuries and hard schedule. Nolan was a great pick up. I'm excited for the offseason and the draft. Give Henne someone to throw to. Beef up the defense. We could go places.

The addition of Mike Nolan could turn out to be one of the better offseason acquisitions in the whole league. We still have a lot of work to do as far as getting talent on defense, but I feel a whole lot better with Nolan running it than Pasqualoni. No more vanilla defense and quarters coverage...

We're we really that well coached last year? I honestly dont think our coaching was anything to rave about.

i hope so but we are missing some parts that the saints have that we dont like a Good TE and good WRs

I hope that it turns out as Schein describes it. I totally agree on the Nolan hire, it was a great move.

I am thinking the same thing. i don't think we will get the respect this offseason, because of the Jets and Patriots, but I think during the season we will be turning some heads.

Mike Nolan coming here was the biggest news nobody outside of Dolphin fandum heard about.

Here's to making an even bigger splash at getting a play-making WR..

I think we allready found him, lests see how Hartline does in his second year.

Not that I'm disagreeing that the Phins can/should be a playoff team but this Schein guy is naming 9 of the 20 teams that missed the playoffs as potentially making it in 2010 - hardly a small targeted list of candidates he's got here.
