Schein of FoxSports: Dolphins could be the 2010 Saints

I am thinking the same thing. i don't think we will get the respect this offseason, because of the Jets and Patriots, but I think during the season we will be turning some heads.

Mike Nolan coming here was the biggest news nobody outside of Dolphin fandum heard about.

Here's to making an even bigger splash at getting a play-making WR..

I still don't get hype surrounding the Pats. They looked like an old warrior staging a last hurrah this season and they looked horrible in the playoffs.
BB is a good coach, but Pioli was the brains in acquiring talent. He is gone.
They have more holes than the Phins and Jets. Welker won't be back until midseason and is likely to lose some of his quickness. Moss isn't getting any younger, neither is the O-line. The defense has only one decent LB (Mayo). They looked like an average defense the second half of the season.
No longer are players willing to accept less money to play for BB with the possibility of playing for a championship. Too many teams have passed them by. Players around the league now know how cutthroat that organization is following the way they handled Vrabel and Seymour.
Who the hell wants to play in frigid Foxboro when they can play in sunny South Florida?

Honesty is completely different from negativity....Say this a thousand times.
You, finnnns2000, acefin and all the debbie downers all love to complain about how much this team sucks all the time and they're LIGHT YEARS away from being contenders. Thank you for telling us what's "honest" or the "truth". :rolleyes2: Seriously, you can be negative or "honest" all you want, but that won't change the fact that 90% of our fans believe this team is closer than you think. And to be honest, they aren't that far away. I'll be the first to admit, this team looked lost at times...so did the head coach. But again...this team is young, Sparano is young....they are both learning...and they will learn quick. Parcells will make sure of that. Mediocrity will NOT be tolerated for very much longer. Nolan WAS a great hire and YES he will fix the D. Call it stubborn or whatever you want but he WILL. He's a mastermind at the 3-4 defense. He's got a great for talent. If you can't see that, you must not be watching the same game I am. So, if you make it back from Iraq in one piece (good luck with that, btw) you will see by then this team has become an elite team and won a Super Bowl title by then hopefully.

BP, Ireland and Sparano came to this organization with a plan. They built the foundation starting with the lines of scrimmage. The Phins are as good as the Saints and Colts across the both lines of scrimmage. What separates those 2 teams from the Phins are experienced QB's and playmakers on offense and defense.
Henne will get better and I'm hoping FA and the draft will handle the latter.
With the right moves by the FO this team could contend. Things can change quickly in the NFL. The Giants won the SB 2 seasons ago and they aren't any better than the Phins right now IMO.
No reason to be a homer NOR a pessimist. The team is headed in the right direction. As fans we just have to keep things in perspective.:hi5:

So, in your mind then Cam Cameron should have never been fired. Same with Wannstedt. Its not their jobs to get us ready.

And I do think we should hold teachers accountable when students perform poorly.

I think this hits on the difference between us. You don't think anyone should be held accountable. I just disagree.

I wish like hell I had a boss like that. LOL! "It doesn't matter if your team sucks, you can't do it for them".

So now your a mind reader? no sir, cam never put the team in position to win, in fact his actions actively worked against us. And wanny, couldn't do anything with what he had, he just failed at putting the whole team together and making them prepared, and we really shouldn't even get on his adjustment ability...

please, dont put words in my mouth in order to make your aguements better... If you want to argue what I write feel free. Please dont assume more than that.

I suppose where we differ is on our opinions of sparano. and when he leads this team past the first round next year, I'll go ahead and take that as I was correct..

:lol2::lol2:

The Saints were formerly a 7-9 and then 8-8 team and people were starting to question Payton. I'm not asserting that we have the same tools they did, only that we could well be on the same trajectory, especially with the 2nd year of Henne's development, the Williams like addition of Nolan's D and a legit #1 WR.

Now on to you.

I believe I was the first to nominate you. I also made a post in the thread that I voted for you in appreciation of your service to our country..but under normal circumstances would not have since I KNEW you'd delight in receiving and misinterpreting this award as a confirming "Badge of Honor." So kudos to me

However, if I had my druthers, this award would have been called something like "Seeing a half-Full Glass as 3/4qtr empty." :pop:

Again, thank you for your service and please stay safe in Iraq. However don't feel obligated to seek out online access to post on our account. :ohno:

Dont' worry Vaark. I don't feel obligated to do anything other than things I get paid to do.

Now then...you people who draw "inspiration" from the Saints should be given the "Stevie Wonder Award". Those comparisons are absurdities on stilts.

The Saints, when SP got there, had a franchise QB. They lucked out with Colston. They quickly built a running game. Since they hit with two UDFA, I think their scouting does deserve some credit for Pierre Thomas and Marques Colston. In any case, they quickly built one of the best offenses in the league.

They did have some problems on defense, but they got that corrected as well. They still aren't great on defense, but in the NFL, you don't have to be to win Super Bowls. You have to be able to score points on offense and that in itself will pressure the other teams offenses to make mistakes.

We aren't any of what the Saints were. I dont know how you guys look at their records and think we are. We are not.
