The protection scheme last night was as amateur as the players trying to execute it. Blocking DEs 1 on 1 with TEs. Trying to help on DTs with OTs. 3 players blocking 1. 1 Player blocking no one. Billy Turner was a disaster in pass pro. Consistently beaten inside and they never made an adjustment. They had no answer vs the same 4 man front all night long and all they had to do is help Turner with Urbik, let Tunsil alone and move Simms to the right side. Just a circus folks. We can't block the most basic front in football.

The offensive guru and his guys have been a huge failure so far.

To be fair, they did hand the O-line job to the only jerk they could find outside of Philbin. I doubt he has a firm grip on it and should be dumped after this year.

Hopefully Gase can find an upgrade next season. Not sure who will be available but Foerster definitely needs to go.

Your clip shows 3 bad plays for Turner. One is a half-sack and possibly another half-sack and an additional pressure. Agreed, those were bad plays. But that is the sort of pass protection Turner provided all of last season, so that's nothing new. That is why he was not a starter this year. What he showed that was new today was that he actually opened running lanes.

Our OL sucked today, yes. But our right side sucked more than the left side. James and Bushrod were beaten like drums.

Other than Tunsil and maybe Steen, I would replace every other guy on the line in 2017. Tough task with all the needs on the team but Albert is a waste of cap space, Bushrod is done, James is not a quality starter, & Pouncey is overpaid and never healthy. None of the reserves have shown that they can become quality starters either. That being said, a good offensive line coach could have done a better job with what we had than the disaster we witnessed in Cincinnati.

Given the investment we've made in that line you'd think we be spanking our opponents by now. Even those with a stiff run defense. If Foerster doesn't have both hands on the job by now then he should be fired midseason. My patience is spent.

Well, it was no secret in the offseason when Foerster was hired that he already had a history of being a pretty terrible o-line coach at his other stops. In SF they got better using the same players after he was fired. But, as was said at the time, there wasn't a whole lot available out there for a rookie head coach to hire.

It's like every defensive lineman is covered in lube. I mean, sure, we have spurts where we play well but more often than not these guys are just flopping around.

Definitely a sticky situation.

Turner has terrible lateral movement and can't adjust in pass protection, same as last year. Yet he can block when moving forward in the run game, he is a backup. Should have had Urbick or a RB to help plug that gap in pass protection. My question is WTF happened to James? He was pretty solid until this year where he looks lost. Is he injured or does it all fall on bad schemes?

People are blaming Tannehill, and his warts are becoming clearer by the day (pocket presence), but last night was clear as day a huge oline fail. When a team can rush 4, drop 7, and destroy the pocket, it doesn't matter who the QB is.

That's just as f'ing depressing the second time seeing it...

And to think, there were people who were pumped up about him coming here.

Almost makes you wonder what other ideas they were tossing around.
