"The Miami Dolphins are not going to be any good this year. They won 6 games last year, expect about a 4 win season".

that's only part of the message. He basically said the team is admitting they are more focused on long term rather than short term

Eh, I thought 6 games is realistic anyways. But it's still exciting to see what Ryan has to bring. We need to make sure this process goes smoothly for Ryan. It won't be about winning games as much as it is about progress this season. But who knows, a first round QB can turn a franchise around their first season. Only problem is that we are lacking so much talent outside of Reggie Bush for Ryan.

We have a lot of games against non-elite QBs this season, similar to what happened in 2008.

I think that if Tannehill plays better than Matt Moore did down the stretch last season, we can easily steal 9 games.

Remember, we have two games against Buffalo w/Ryan Fitzpatrick at QB, then two games against the Jets with Tony Sparano calling the shots for an offense that just doesn't have any talent at all.

The best thing for the fins would to see glimpses and stretches of strong play from Tann Marino, but to lose as many games as possible. This way, you know you have a franchise qb, and now you have high picks to surround him with.

Winning 6 games would be a disaster for the fins.

The best outcome of this season will be Tannehill's growth. Anything else will be the whip cream on top.

What he is basically saying is that because Miami is "likely" going to start Tannehill from day one that the team has essentially thrown in the towel on the 2012 season. I don't buy that at all, Philbin and Ireland still want to win games and they are not giving up on the season because they are starting Tannehill. Did the Bengals throw in the towel last year when they started Dalton? The Ravens with Flacco in 2008? If Tannehill starts from day one it is because the coaching staff believes he gives them the best chance to win on Sundays over the veterans. Tannheill will have growing pains and MIGHT cost this team a game or two, but they are not giving up on the 2012 season.

Do you think Ireland would be satisfied if they had another losing season? Do you think the fans won't be vocal about Ireland's job if they lose again? Losing this season might actually be the worst thing for the long term success of this franchise. If they finish 4-12 or 5-11, fans are going to call for Ireland's head. If Ross listens to them and replaces him, the new GM might want his own coach which means Philbin is out the door. If a new coach comes in, he will want his scheme and might send players out the door. Perhaps Tannehill doesn't fit what the new coach wants. A losing season might set this franchise back another 5 years.

I think a 4 win season is definitely a low estimate. We won 6 games last season with a tougher schedule and outside of losing Brandon Marshall, our team got better all around.

I don't think Brandon Marshall was worth two wins, but maybe I'm wrong.

I would rather hear from his daughter. He did a nice job there! BS on his 4 win prognostication

just one more guy who in the end will be saying.....no body wants to play the dolphins.

Whether or not we win this season depends very heavily on the defense. I think the offense will be good enough to get 21 points a game. The question is whether or not the defense can limit the opposition to less or not. That will be a tall order because the offense does not have the tools in place for controlling the ball once a lead has quickly (too quickly?) been established. As a result, I think we'll see Sherman keep the offense running full tilt for entire games. He'll have a warranted fear of our defense folding under too much pressure from all of the time they'll be on the field. Will that work? We'll see. Maybe enough to get us sniffing the playoffs.

Schlereth may be right. I don't think we'll be as bad as a 4 lose team, but our record will really depend on the QB play. If Tannehill ends up the starter from the first regular season game, do expect some growing pains.

Our season will depend upon Tannehill if he earns the starting spot. The faster he is able to adjust to the pro game, the faster our Phins will be a serious contender.

Tannehill has an elite arm, great athleticism, great understanding of the offense, but he is still raw. I think Tannehill has what it takes to become a Franchise QB in this league.

It all hinges on how fast he is able to elevate his play up to that point.
