SCHOTTENHEIMER SOUR ABOUT LEMON DEAL



Earlier this week, we reported that some members of the Chargers' organization were "livid" about the team's decision to trade third-string quarterback Cleo Lemon to the Dolphins.



As it turns out, a pretty key member of the operation didn't like it.



The head coach.



According to Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com, Marty Schottenheimer didn't know about the trade until it happened.

Makes sense that the Chargers wanted to unload Brees or Rivers and Lemon would move into the #2 spot. Now with Lemon gone and AJ new to the system it makes the Chargers less likely to play as hard ball as they wish.
 
reading article it sounds like he was mad cause he wasnt in the know about the trade....didnt say he was mad they traded him.
 
having read PFT....it once again sounds like Marty is pissed cause he was left in dark....not because Lemon is some kind of diamond in the rough.

the real reason is that he probably want lemon as the backup to brees when they shippied rivers out.

I think its both, there is a power struggle but it also gives reason to screwing up marty's plan to have Lemon backup Brees or rivers.
 
to me it only confirms that lemon is not that good

But it also seems like Lemon was "his guy" and the one Shotty wanted to be the #2 behind either Brees/Rivers...

I think he will be a good #2 for us. And we bring in Brees/Rivers next year. How funny would that be if Lemon gets out of SD just to end up sitting behind one of the 2 again in MIA... :lol:
 
It has been reported before that there is a power strugle between the HC and the GM as too who the qb of the future is. Marty wants Brees and the GM wants Rivers. I would imagin this situation is a continuation of that tension.

He would not give a darn if Lemon was a lemon, power struggle or not.
