Schulters Close To Signing One Year Deal

If any of you have read Terrell Owens' Catch This you'd know why I'm so excited about this. The book doesn't talk about him too long but it mentions how important Schulters was as a locker room presence, supposedly playing loud music to pump guys up and giving half-time speeches to motivate everyone. You can never have too many players like that.

Wow, if true that still leaves cap room to compete for Law (at a reasonable price of course) or to sign a vet like Buckley for mimimum, so the Dolphins have some depth in case of injury.

There may be some hard choices next year if most of the guys with one year contracts have good seasons (as I think most will as they know it means a payday for them). Still, until Saban can add more players through another draft, and some more cheap FA players, I think he has done about as much as possible to field a winning team.

On the other hand, if some of these guys on one year contracts crash and burn? The team has not lost cap space by having to eat a signing bonus from a long-term contract.

Ok... sounds great, but call me skeptical... haven't we heard this before? Like 2 weeks ago?
 
sounds like we need this guy, Schulters and Jones wouldn't be a terrible combo

Far from terrible....I think safety becomes a strength if Lance signs.

All our AFC East friends who have been saying "your secondary is weak" should take off their homer glasses...if we add Lance our secondary is pretty good...at least in my opinion...

we would be set at safety but the reason they say we are week is also because we might have a rookie starting at CB which isn't a bad thing but we also don't have depth at CB

That's funny, the Patriots don't have all that and yet they win. Some of you have this misconception that it takes 11 pro bowlers on offense and 11 pro bowlers on defense to contend for a championship.
The Pats have a serviceable LT, not a dominant one. Their 2 starting CB's in the SB were serviceable (Gay and Samuel). Their LB's are no better, younger or deeper than the Phins LB's.
When Brady took over for Bledsoe, no one in the league (Pats fans included) expected his level of success.
It takes a solid team that is well coached to contend for a championship.

That is commonly overlooked! This is the first time since Shula do I feel we a good head coach.

This is such great news. Tillman and Bell both have been playing poorly in TC and we need a guy like Schulters to come in and start. I was reading the blog at SS and it said that he WILL sign a contract with us today.
