Just want to say how pleased I am that we have Scott Linehan. Look how the Vikings are struggling without him! It won`t be long before this offence gets going especially when Ricky Williams comes back against Tampa Bay. I`ll bet Scott can`t wait to get Ricky in there. Watch for the offence to get better and better with each game.

Scott Linehan is a godsend. When was the last time our team was on the top 5 passers after week one? When was the last time we did a reverse twice in a row?

I hope we can keep him for a long time (allthough I doubt it  ).

I really hope he is with us for a long time, but like you i really doubt it.

It's a shame that the chances of keeping him around for 5+ years is slim to none. These days if a team has a great season or two the coaching staff gets picked apart by other teams offering HC jobs, so year to year consistency is hard to maintain. Hopefully we'll kick *** quick and get a SB victory before that occurs.

I hope the money keeps him here a little longer. Everyone on Radio and TV is talking about the Vikings being so much worse because of losing Moss. It is because of losing Linehan. He is good. I must admit, this is the first time since Shula that I'm not dissappointed in the playcalling. I actually find myself saying "why aren't we running the ball". I just got so used to run, run, run, punt.

I would think he will need more than this season with us to be considered for any HC jobs. Maybe in 2-3 years, with a playoff run he will start to be considered. If Minny fires Tice after the season, they could interview him, but they wont pay him what we are paying him, so he should stay I would think.

If Mike Tice is gone from Minnesota...then Linehan is a top contender for that job...

Linehan will be the most important addition to this team this year.

I agree. He also hasn't gotten much press in the past. Kind of like a Jimmy Johnson in Philly, the DC in Tampa (i just lost his name/Brain Fart) or Bates here. They are excellent at their coordinator spots, but for some reason never come up as head coaching candidates. The money will help and if he's happy he may rather stay than have the added pressure of being a HC and possible be paid the same or less.

Here's to hoping he stays.

great positve comment!!

I agree that Linehan won't go anywhere for a couple of years, but who does Minnesota miss more, Linehan or Moss? They kind of go hand in hand, a coach needs good players and players need coaching. I've never though that Dante was really that good, maybe overrated is another word for him (my opinion). After saying that, with the new owner in Minnesota, we don't know how big his checkbook is.

Good thought. You could very well be right about this. On the flip side I dont know if he will wont to go back, Im not sure what we are paying him but I think we made him one of the highest paid cordinators in the league. Higher than some head coaches. As for him going to another team I dont think they will come calling for at least another year, maby two.

I think that will be the factor that may determine how long Linehan will be with us.

Yes, I've compared the last two games from the Wanny era to the first two games of the Linehan era.

You can really see the difference in the offense. Not at all because of the players or anything, just watching the plays called. Linehan is more agressive and seems less likely to just run the clock. More so attacking. But one thing I've noticed is how Linehan seems to set up defenses with a few offensive calls, and then rip's one...or tries to. LIke he's trying to lead them.

Wanny was always pretty much the same thing time and time again.
