I had forgotten that Linehan came down from the booth to be on the sideline a couple of weeks ago and since then the team is 3-0. How much does his move down with the team had an affect on our recent streak?

I had always thought that it was better for the coordinators to call the game from the booth, but know I'm not sold on it any longer.

Your thoughts...?

Rumor was Saban strongly suggested that he do so. It was so he could have more interaction with all the players and get feedback from the field. Good call Nick! Keep em comin!!

Chambers has said that its helped because he can go up to Scott and tell him what kind of routs he can get open on.

So we becoming more of a "tighter" group, creating more of a family atmospher?

The interaction between coordinator and player is something that has definately helped within the last couple of weeks. If you look at the colts Tom Moore and Peyton Manning are always talking to each other on the sidelines about what they are seeing and the best way to beat the coverage.

Having Linehan on the field is smart. Its not like we don't have a dozen assistants watching the game from the same booth and radioing down everything to him. This way we have the connection to the players. Much better.

Our quarterbacks have been making more plays since Linehan came down so that's a possibility. However, the Dolphins were basically being shut out by Buffalo until Sage hurry up offense Rosenfels saved the day. It may have helped some but I think too much is being made of it at this point. Have to see how the quarterback position plays for the next three games.

Since the move...
Chambers has been moved around to make mismatches...less throws to welker cause chambers is playing out of the slot sometimes...

Better halftime adjustments. The second half has been our best the last 3 games

I still think we need to use Ronnie Brown like the Chargers use LT. Everything needs to be around Ronnie. Once Ronnie starts running that opens up alot more down the field.

Our offense has been a big charge since Leinhan got put on the sidelines. We got our passing attack down, so now we just need to give the damn ball to Brown more. In the last two games, Brown has a total 20 carries for 52 rushing yards. We need to attack more on the ground and make more of a mix between the pass and run. Then the teams won't know why we will do next.

I love Scott Linehan, even when we were struggling I liked him...I was a little critical of the playcalls at the end of the NE game and Buffalo game, but we won 1 of 2, and would've won 2 of 2 if the defense held. I figure if it doesn't work, he still has a much better idea than I do.

I agree that it has been better, but whether that is cause and effect is unclear.

I will say that there is some real warm and fuzzy spin being put on why Saban brought him down there.

Linehan is on the sidelines becuase after his hideos play-calling three games in a row, Saban had to do something. It was costing us games. So this.

It certainly had the effect of improving the play calling... but mostly I think because the boss took him to task and has a closer eye on him. No more reverses every game, no more automatic passing downs, no more Ronnie+Ricky in backfield = pass.

Linehan was doing a terrible job. Now he's doing a good one. I don' know which exactly changed that... but thank God it did.

Saban said that the booth provides a bit of detachment and calmness which can help in thinking through and analyzing things, whereas on the sidelines, Linehan affects the players more and communication is better.

Personally, it seemed at times Linehan was trying to outsmart himself in the booth so maybe a little less thinking on the sidelines is a good thing. :D
