I've heard this guy mentioned a couple of times as one of the masterminds of the patriots success over the past few years. Has there been any talk of him taking over the GM job with Miami? I'm not sure why he would leave exactly, but I think his current title must be a step below GM.

Anyone else know anything about him, or think it would be a good idea? I would love to get a solid foundation in place with someone that can actually evaluate talent.

hes not gonna leave NE. He has no reason to. If we tried to get him, Kraft will probably outbid Wayne.

Pioli works for NE.

He would be great, but has a good job right now.

I figure he won't leave NE but a bunch of different ESPN analysts were saying we should go after him first, and then let him pick our coach. Like I said before, I do not understand why they (ESPN) were saying he would be interested or attainable.

Kraft CAN'T outbit Wayne. Anyway he'd be given full personell duties here, something he'll never get in New England as long as Belichick is around.

You know this how?

And where the heck did "Pioli to Miami" come from? The guy's given no indication that he wants to leave NE to go anywhere, let alone to a divisional rival.

:yeahthat:.I don't think Kraft likes to spend money or maybe its Bill.Getting him would be nice or just give Muller it.Either one is good.Plus,Velvetta > Kraft :goof:.I can't wait,I want stuff to happen already!! :tantrum:.

Pioli would be a good pickup ... but NE isn't going to let him go quietly and Mueller has a pretty decent track record --- so we should be ok with what we have !

We should stick to our guns, and keep Mueller as GM in my opinion. He's highly capable, and he has a very solid track record.....

If we try and throw money at Pioli, Mueller will quit on us regardless if Pioli accecpts the offer or not. Say Pioli turns us down....guess what?? No Pioli / no Mueller and then we're in real trouble....

We really can't afford any screw-up's this off-season, and if something like that ever happened, it would be a major blow. We'd be stuck looking for a new GM, and one that would likely be less qualified than Mueller....

Let's keep Mueller. He's a very good GM......

PHINZ RULE!!!!

The only way he could leave New England is by getting a promotion, which in this case means having control over personnel. If Miami approaches him with that, together with a sizable increase in salary, more likely than not he'd at least listen.

You don't think other teams have offered what your are saying in the last 3-4 years? He still hasn't left. Why?

It would be hard to get him to leave N.E considering he is in a relationship with Krafts daughter. Kind of like Phil Jackson in L.A. even if they wanted to go somewhere else they will probably get sweet talked by their girls not to leave.
