Why haven't the Dolphins interviewed Scott Pioli yet for the vacant GM position?? Is Carl Peterson the reason behind this because he doesn't want to hire someone who replaced him in KC? We all know Pioloi's track record in NE (2001-2008) and when Bill Belicheck values someone as much as Pioli he must have one hell of a football mind. He is also the man largely responsible for building the nucleus of the current KC roster. Now yes some of you are going to point out his horrible signing of Matt Cassel in KC which I agree was an awful move. But overall, in over 15 years of work as a scout, player personnel guy, and GM, he has one hell of a track record and should at the very least, have a chance to interview for the position. I would love it if the Dolphins got this guy in the front office.

Keep the stench of rancid tuna away from this franchise.

Just say no to the Parcells family.

Also, he sucks.

I don't agree he sucks . He built some pretty good teams, KC not included. That being said Im sure Ross doesn't want a guy like Pioli in charge who will demand more power

He literally bugged his head coach's office when he was the GM of the Chiefs.

He literally, literally, literally, put a bug in his head coach's office because he was that paranoid about what was going on in there.

This is a thing that Scott Pioli actually did.

J David Wannyheimer is 100% correct. He is Bill Parcells son in law and he is close to the Big Tuna. He was also responsible for the most disgusting surveillance program that I have heard of. He bugged the offices of the senior Chiefs employees and got his kicks out scaring them with his knowledge what they said and did. He is a product of the Parcells school of creating fear. The Chiefs improvement that Andy Reid led this year was largely attributable to the removal of the stench from Scott Pioli and the culture of fear he created and promoted.
One of the hot GM candidates Miami is looking at is Farmer, who left KC a year ago and went to the Cleveland Browns. Farmer appears to have a skill in identifying talent. I hope that he wasn't corrupted by Pioli.

Because I called my buddy, Stephen Ross, and I said, "Stevie baby, forget Pioli. We don't need another person looking for gum wrappers on the floor."
So blame me.

Scott Pioli is a bad human being.

Man I'm getting tired of debunking the Pioli as a talent evaluator myth. The short of it is he's overrated at best as a talent guy, and a complete paranoid douche personally.

There is no debunking or myth , he did a fine job in NE and other spots but was not very good in KC. He drafted a few hall of famers Wilfork, Brady, Traded for Welker9not saying he is hall of famer.
ALl Pro Linebacker Jerod Mayo, Logn Mankins, Drafted Cassel late which netted a nice pick later, went to him but would have been traded somewhere. Drafted Asante Samuel,
Dan Koppen. Deion Branch, Richard Seymour, Matt Light. MAde some good acquisitions not a master drafter but just landing tom brady puts him on a good status

Because he's been a failure every where he's been without Belichick.

Pioli has made his career from getting lucky on Brady. Those others are solid but hall of fame? He certainly wasn't the GM in NE anyway when all that happened, so you need to put more weight on his performance in KC because he was the GM and it's a more recent example of his work. No, he's overrated and his personality problems are well documented.

Other side point - Pioli sought to exorcise all remnants of the King Carl Peterson era in Kansas City. He went out of his way to slash personnel who had been long serving Chiefs employees and loyal to Peterson. He went right through the entire organization (why does this sound like a Parcells idea?).
Several years later, Peterson is helping to coordinate the GM recruitment in Miami for his old friend Stephen Ross. Can you honestly expect Peterson to consider Pioli after the "Bonfire of the Vanities" in Kansas City? However, Farmer was a long serving successful Peterson assistant in KC and he is in with a good chance.
